Cotto is growing on his people. Soon he will completely replace that iconic status that Tito had for us ricans. They have two different personalities, thats why some have held onto Tito a little harder but Cotto right now is the champ and he is the man.

I am Puerto Rican and I respect them both. I think that Tito is liked more on the Island and on the US east coast in general, but Cotto is definitely gaining on Tito. If Tito wins tommorow night then Cotto will have a lot of work to do to surpass him. A win over PBF or DLH would be a step in the right direction.

Tito is more liked in Puerto Rico and Cotto is more respected (a lot of people makes fun on how fast Tito speaks). Is hard to pick one or the other since I am a fan of both fighters. That's how I see it here in PR, but of course I don't speak for everyone.

Depends who you ask. Younger guys tend to lean towards Cotto. Older guys seem to lean towards Tito.

I kind of been slagging the match off, but if Felix did the seeminly impossible tonight and smashed Jones, what affect would that have on his standing amongst his people?

My favorite fighter right now is Cotto, but everyone here loves tito because he's a great person and he is charismatic. I like Tito a lot, and what he has that Cotto doesn't is what makes him more famous and loved.

I voted Cotto only becuase I think he is the more complete fighter ..Tito was a huge over acheiver with limited boxing skills ..Either way a great champ but I like Cotto better ..Plusa win over Mosley doesn't look to bad either .

He speaks well now, he has taken therapy for this because a lot of people made fun of his speaking. But I respect Tito a lot as a person, I believe Cotto is a more solid fighter but Tito is a guy who puts others before himself and is honest and proud of being a Puerrtorrican.

From the Rican perspective, Tito is still ahead. Cotto wins the people over more and more with each fight, but Tito is so openly Puerto Rican Pride. He makes it seem like he's invited the whole island into one of his fights. When it's all said and done, Cotto may top Tito in the Puerto Rican-American crowd with all these Puerto Rican Day Parade events.

Tito, IMO, is the best offensive fighter of the last 25 years. He could do anything in his prime with any punch. Just a pure puncher.

But Cotto seems to be the better boxer, with equal power. I think in time, Cotto could be seen as the better fighter since he has more dimensions. If his resume gets built up a bit more he'll definitely have a say.
