Felix Trinidad (Prime) vs Antonio Margarito @147!

guarentee you margo would not be letting trinidad hit him on the chin like cotto. margo aint that dumb.

 

I honestly think that TODAY Tito has a good chance against Margo at 154, so at 147 when Tito was at his prime?? ufff.. It will be a one sided beat down.

Margo has a great chin but I don't think that he will be able to take Tito's punch for 5 straight rounds while he warms up...

 

People don't seem to realize that against true knockout artists Margo doesn't leave his hands down. He had a really high and tight guard both times against Cintron because he respected his power. It's just that very few fighters at welterweight can earn his respect but you better believe if he fought Tito prime for prime at 147 he would have very tight defense.

Margarito loves fighters that come right him so chances are he would be looking to smother Trinidad and make it an inside fight as neither likes to take a step back. He'll be the toughest fighter Trinidad has ever faced at Welter and if Margo can take some of his best shots early on I think he would wear he him down through attrition and probably drop Trinidad a few times on his way to a close UD or late TKO.

 

Trinidad's REAL punch power is questionable, especially considering the handwrap incident.

 

might not agree on you about the out come but defianetly, margo aint gonna sit there and let trindad hit him. margo has underrated defense. he showed vs. paul williams as well. just think that trinidad will tag him enough times to stop him. the only fighters who beat trinidada were guys who outboxed him. dont think margo can do that for 12 rds

 

Well when did he get accused of this handwrapping? Was it after he already moved up to 154lbs? If so, then he would have the illegal handwraps for this fight at WW....and Margo would get his ass handed to him :yep :good

 

There was some controversy but nothing was ever substantiated to the best of my knowledge. What we do know is that Trinidad has been down a dozen times already and it's not a great stretch of the imagination to think that if Margo drops him hard he may be able to keep him down by overwhelming him with a huge barrage that prevents Tito from recovering. If anyone at welter had the chin to accomplish this feat it would be Margarito.

I would say Margarito wins, Tito has often hit the deck by lesser fighters as well, Margarito well he can take a shot, a Tito shot we just dont know but its clear he can take punishment from much bigger men such as Paul Williams I think Margarito stops Trinidad, Tito has a soft spot in that body exposed by DLH Vargas and Jones Jr and Hopkins, Margarito loves bringing it to the body, in a war Margarito stops Trinidad.

 

Honestly, I am sick and tired of hearing this crap... I honestly feel that B-Hop's camp made all this **** up to begin with so let's leave this behind.

 

Tito by late TKO. I don't think he would drop Margarito but the referee or the corner might stop it. Tito would probably get hurt in the early rounds though.

Much respect for the Puerto Rican warrior, but I pick Margo by TKO in the late rounds.

 

I think Tito by decision. I honestly don't think Margarito can be knocked out at 147. Maybe Hearns or Robinson could do it, but I wouldn't fancy anyone else in history. Margarito would make a great fight of it IMO, he is simply too strong and too relentless not to make a great fight of it against anyone, but I think Tito's straight shots, mobility, and power would give him the edge and allow him to score a unanimous points win in a classic match-up.

 

If Tito could rock a legit middle in William Joppy, he could definitely stop Margarito on his feet without having to knock him down.
