He'd have no difficulty knocking him down either. Is there a reason Margarito is thought to be this God of Durability? He took Cotto's shots, who's more of an accumulation puncher anyway. Otherwise, he's been dropped early and was rocked and hurt by Daniel Santos at 154. The biggest and/or most accurate punchers would do him in for certain given his lack of defense. Very good chin, bit overrated based off of one performance.

Yeah, but Kirk once put up compelling evidence that suggested Tito used handwraps for his fights. If this is the case, then Tito loses all respect as a fighter, and especially as a KO artist, and given his chin issues and his tendency to slug, I would put money on Margarito.

If Tito didn't wear handwraps than yes, it's likely that Tito would eventually stop Margarito, but even this is unclear as Cintron, who was thought to be a big puncher, (though obviously not nearly as versatile or tallented as Tito), couldn't put a dent in Margarito even at full extention.

See Tito vs Mayorga, seriously Margo just isn't that good, one win doesn't make a career BTW Cotto struggleing with an old worn out SSM proved he wasn't that good before Margo anyway.

If Tito wrap his hands like brass knuckle than I'll take Tito forsure. If he wrap it regular style, Margo by KO 10.

Now is NOT early and we're talking about a fight at 147, not 154.
Apart from that, you sure he was really "hurt" by Santos?

Tito by stoppage. margo has a hell of a chin but there is no way that the ref or his corner would let the fight go the distance with him getting hit clean and hard as often as Tito would hit him

Absolutely, he was clearly rocked and wobbled.

I've heard Margo supporters claim he'd have taken Julian Jackson's shots at 154 and eventually stop him because Jackson wouldn't be able to dent his chin. What a load of utter ****!

147 or 154, Tito is still a more powerful puncher than Santos, and a much more dangerous offensive fighter in general.

He would drop Margo atleast once in this fight most likely in the late rounds from sure accumalation. No way in hell does Margo simply walk thru Tito's shots and no way in hell does he fight with his hands down either. Tito by UD is my pick.

The third, though he also stunned him in the first.

I don't think it really matters, as Margarito is an accumulation puncher rather than a pure power puncher, so I doubt he'd be hurting Tito or even going to the head often. Margarito would likely try to work the body while Tito tee'd off on his head, and that just doesn't work with defense as porous as Margo's, not against a puncher like Tito.

Tito gets stunned pretty often, so I think it matters.
And why wouldn't Margo go for the head?
Don't get me wrong, Tito would definitely have the advantage if he was to face Margo at his prime, but you seriously don't give any chance for a Margo win?

People are just going on the assumption that Tito can even hurt Margarito to begin with. They are also just assuming that Margo won't knock Tito down & out when he's already been down a dozen times in his career which shows his chin is shaky but probably not worse than Hearns, who for all his power had a terrible chin.

If either the first assumption or second or both are proven incorrect during the fight then Trinidad would cop an incredible beating since he like Margo doesn't know how to back down from going toe to toe. I mean what do you think would happen if Margo just laughs at Trinidad's power? No one to date has been able to beat Margarito by going toe to toe.

Everyone assumed Cintron would stop Margarito in the first fight and some even in the second one. Everyone assumed Cotto would destroy Margarito.
Now everyone is assuming once again that Trinidad would beat Margo with 100% certainty. When you have a guy with great power and a shaky chin vs. a guy with very good power but possessing a granite chin, I would go for the guy with the chin every time especially when both fighters like going toe to toe.
