I think you and your misses need to go and count somethin, There could not be a less realistic view on the subject of trinidad vs margarito

This thread is done quite often.

No welterweight, and yes that includes Margarito, just walks through Trinidad's shots. Margo may not be the bigger, stronger man, which takes away a lot from his game. Trinidad of course is a harder puncher, better technique, and much faster. Margo's only edge is his chin. He gets broken down and stopped inside of 10 rounds, and while he himself would probably drop Tito early, it would be due to Trinidad's poor balance paticularly early, which all of his knockdowns at the weight were caused by.

Williams was not considered a puncher when he faced Margarito, and only afterwards has he started switching his style up and sitting down on his punches. He was a pure volume puncher when he faced Margo.

i cant believe some people think tito wouldnt hurt margarito...

It would be a badass battle but NOBODY at WW who gets hit as much and as cleanly as margarito does and yes still relies on wearing an opponent down by in their face fighting like he does is going to beat trinidad at 147...

It is more competetive then the early cotto margarito, as i think cotto is a slicker and better boxer then tito, and early on its a back and forth assault, but by round 4, tito is hurting margarito and by round 7 you would see even margaritos chin would crumble under Trinidads fists.

So is there an active welterweight out there who you consider a puncher?

I mean a great puncher, and no there aren't any around these days, not with the skills to put him away.

that is true williams gameplan that night did not consist of no power shots what so ever, he was purly volume punching all night
that can also be effective at stoping peeps who get overwhelmed but in the case of margo, williams was just totting points up all night

Cintron's overhand right has comparable power to Trinidad's left hook. He just doesn't have Tito's technique or mental strength to utilize it as well as he should. In both fights Cintron hit Margo with some considerable artillery but couldn't even stun him. If Trinidad somehow manages to stop Margarito it would have to be a hell of a lot of accumulative shots late in the fight.

Don't know if it's comparable to Tito's, but yeah Cintron is a big puncher and btw people bash him too much ;)

I don't think Cintron's power is comparable with Trinidad's. Who knows what will happen in the future, but as of now he has not proven his power anywhere near to the degree that Trinidad did.

He certainly has some big power, but comparing it to someone like Trinidad's is saying too much as the only guys of worth he has stopped are Matthysse, who has been stopped by Bunema and Sebastian Lujan since, David Estrada who took some tremendous shots but went to the 10th round with Cintron in a war, and Jesse Feliciano, whom Cintron couldn't miss but still went 10 rounds.

Margo is getting VERY overhyped, Tito NEVER lost to a guy with the style of Margo, Tito was a beast in WW.
A prime Tito shits on the WW and the Super WW of today.
