I think a Tito vs. Margarito fight would look very similar to Tito fight with Yory Boy Campas where Tito wont knock Margarito out cold but the ref will have to step in here's the clip of that fight.

To be fair, Cintron ruined Matthysse's chin as before their encounter he had never been down before. Williams just overwhelmed him with shots when he ran out of gas and the ref stopped it while still on his feet.

I agree. This is also how I see the fight. No one goes toe to toe with Tito and wins, Margarito gets KTFO within 8 rounds in a brutal fight.:yep

Daniel Santos is a natural light-middleweight though, and although he's not a KO artist, he's a very strong fighter. I don't think that one fight proves Margarito doesn't have a great chin at welterweight. James Toney has an undeniably great chin, but he was dropped and hurt by Reggie Johnson at middleweight, who is not as good a puncher as Santos (Johnson 25 KOs in 44, Santos 23 KOs in 32). Maybe Margarito could be broken down and stopped by someone with great skill, accuracy and power whilst fighting on the backfoot, but I don't think that's Trinidad. As I've said, I think Tito would win on points for sure, but I can't see a stoppage.

So that means Margarito wouldn,t have a chance against Oscar because he really beat Trinidad.

Why would he need to fight off the backfoot to hurt him? Margarito would be there, chin out, to be hit all night long from mid to close range, which is Tito's world. If he's open all night long, he'd be getting hit all night long, and it's not as if Margarito has the defensive awareness to push this aside as a possibility. It's almost a sure thing unless you're counting on Margarito's accumulation body punches taking effect on Tito before Tito's flush head shots take effect on Margarito. As we both know, that's just not the way it works unless you believe Margarito's chin to be superhuman, which has already been proven false.

As for the comparison between Tito and Santos. Yes, Margo was hurt at 154, and this fight would be at 147. I don't see it as making a difference, considering Tito is simply a better puncher than Santos, at 147 or 154, which he also proved. Santos is a good puncher sure, but a lot of his KO's have come as a result of his opposition and were of the TKO variety, not because he was a monstrous power hitter, certainly not in Tito's class.

As for Reggie Johnson, I'd say he was known as a bigger hitter than Santos is back in his prime, when he went up against Toney at MW. Since then he's started to hit the slide and has moved up in weight, limiting his KO potential, and thus his KO ratio.

Prime for prime I'd pick Oscar to slice him up.

Did you just compare Cintron to Tito?

Bear in mind that the Toney fight came relatively early in Johnson's career, so his KO ratio was obviously higher then due to the obligatory KOs over journeymen on the way up.

Tito is of course a better puncher than Santos, but then Santos ultimately failed to stop Margarito anyway. Tito's KO record at 147 was exceptional, but there were a couple of journeymen who lasted the distance I'm sure, as well as the elderly Hector Camacho, and obv DLH and Sweet Pea. Did Tito ever fight or KO anyone at 147 with a chin like Margo? Or did he ever fight someone who would take the fight to him in that way, relentlessly coming forward and hitting to the body, trying to keep the fight on the ropes? Not as far as I know. I think prime Margo would stick too close to him to allow him leverage, and would manage to withstand Tito's short shots, at least well enough to avoid a stoppage. Tito was a great puncher, but I don't think he quite had the power or accuracy/range of a Tommy Hearns.

Tito would win though, I do feel sure enough about that.
