It's been so many years i forgot tito fought Joppy??

This would have been a mismatch that favored Minter, Alan was a true Middleweight, Tito was at his best at 147, Minter too big..

When Trinidad moved up to 160 he was beaten to a pulp by Hopkins...

Minter had a bit of class in the ring, and developed his career the hard way, and that Trinidad was not at his best at Middleweight goes in Boom Boom's favour.

But Minter never made anything easy, and I think Trindad's pedigree would intimidate Alan to a degree. Then you got cuts...

Minter should edge a close decision, but I would not put the mortgage on it!

Felix was a Great Welter... A Superb Lt Middle... But Middle...Er...The Landscape changes.. The Grave Doubts Rise up like an Anemic Zombie getting a whiff of some Fresh Red Copasuls ! Even at Welter Felix was no stranger to the Canvas, and i suspect a Natural Big Punching Predatory Middleweight wouldl always be in with a decent Shout, And Minter, He was very Solid, Good Chin, could box off the Back foot, was a hard puncher, (Shook Hamsho to his Boots) but could throw in combination, Alan did sometimes let his heart rule his Head, and get too involve too quick, as when he got Cut out of it by Gretian Tonna.. But with his "Cool" head on..he dispirited and Broke up Gretian ...and Sicked him until he quit, Come to think of it Ol Tonna would have been a something of Dangerman to Felix Himself...

If Minter keeps a cool head, he can win the Boxing Battle..before Landing something Big and Nasty... Then his speed of Follow-up does not allow Felix his usual Lower-Weight Fight-back...

I Reiterate... Thats Minter with a Cool Measured Approach.

I pick the natural MW Minter to take an easy decision if he boxes smartly.

Trinidad would cut Minter up. He was much more precise than Hamsho.

    Felix is not MMH :D

Minter was a fine fighter and tough as nails. I don't actually think Trinidad would even get to the point of cutting him up, he just wasn't the same at middleweight as he was at JMw, let alone welter.

I love that minter gets cut to ribbons in every fantasy match

Minter could box pretty well for my getting old eyes he has a better jab as is the better boxer of the two . Trinidad which could be important here and if we are going to think that minter will definitely have terrible cuts in almost every fight then we should think to ourselves that Trinidad gets put on the canvas by the likes of kevin the look lueshing then minter may well get the job done early being the bigger man .

Yes I am bored and very tired

Yep I think you're right it's a pity they go down as TKO defeats it gives the wrong impression of his durability to the younger fans that quickly look on boxrec .

I'm sure minter was cut a lot more times and managed to finish those fights

I will just for the sake of it say that Trinidad was a hell of a welterweight falling short of being great though .

One british fighter that may of pulled of a surprise win against him was Colin jones

It's a misconception that Trinidad was in his prime at welter. He got stronger at junior middleweight, and blasting Joppy at middleweight looked better than ever.

He'd have got a Hagler title fight, no doubt in my mind. He was as good as many of those contenders.

Minter is being overrated here IMO. Bloody awkward boxer type, tough, world class, but I see little reason to favour him over Trinidad.

Trinidad was dropped too many times by smaller men for Minter to have to worry about him. He also had less than stellar hand speed. Minter KO within 6 rounds.

Minter was certainly awkward. Fought with a south paw style and seemed a bit tall and leggy for a middleweight. He moved around pretty well too. He wasn't terribly powerful however. He was stopped 8 times in his career, at least 6 of which were on cuts and most of the men he beat were Euro level challengers. Not sure that I'd favor him over the smaller yet far more talented Tito. Trinidad spent the better part of his career on the championship seen, beating contenders and fairing well at both Jr. Middle and Middle. Here's his rematch with Vito Antuofirmo below.
