Who would win this clash at 147? Could Margarito handle Tito's bombs and apply pressure? Good match up. 12 Rounds.

It would probably look like the Vargas fight. Margarito is nowhere near the caliber of Tito at WW.

No more than 10 rounds before Margarito falls.

This is the most talked-about mythical match-up on the ESB, I've seen this thread loads of times before. It would be a sensational fight, hence the popularity of the subject. I would take Trinidad by MD or SD, a close but clear victory for Tito after a thriller. Both would have to climb off the canvas most probably.

Why does Cotto stand a better chance against Trinidad, than the man who defeated him? Refering to recent Cotto-Trinidad thread...

Cotto would be lucky to beat Oba Carr.

    he's not special at all.

He doesn't stand any better a chance, in fact more than likely a worse chance given his lack of durability.

Gonna go out on a limb here and say Margarito stops him in 11.

I may even say that i could see your reasoning, (and THAT is me going out on a limb), but Trinidad for me, its stylistic.

Trinidad is a more complete fighter than Cotto. When Tito realizes that his bombs are bouncing off of Margarito's cast iron chin. Trinidad has the tools to box effectivley. and the power to make Margarito think twice before charging in recklessly. Trinidad by 12 rd. UD.

I can't see the reasoning. I can't see the fight ever folding out to where Margarito stops him or wins in any way. He's just way too wide open for a precise power puncher like Trinidad.

Great matchup, I'd give a slight edge to Tito over 12 rounds.

If the ref is humane he'll stop it after about 5 rounds. If he's not, Tony's career ends after about 8 rounds.

Margarito boxes no where near the caliber of a prime Vargas either Sutphin.
