I wouldn't totally rule McGirt out here, though he's got his work cut out. McGirt was most vulnerable against blinding speed (Taylor, Whitaker) which Trinidad doesn't really have, and he was a very good technician. The way he completely took apart and outclassed a much taller, hard-hitting guy like Brown gives him some hope against Tito. We know that Trinidad had trouble against quality boxers. That said, McGirt probably lacks the physical presence to discourage Trinidad, and went into his shell a bit when fights were going away from him. I'm not sure if his sneaky lead right which he liked to throw would make any kind of dent. He was pretty much punch-perfect for the whole 36 minutes against Brown, but was never that good (though still very good) in any other fight. Asking a lot to replicate that. I think McGirt has the style and nous to go the full twelve, but Trinidad wins the decision. Might be a frustrating night for him, but while McGirt makes him look a bit average he probably can't get into the fight enough from an offensive perspective and loses in a similar way to Whitaker....But Buddy is a reasonably live underdog, in my opinion.
I know it's easy to think Buddy could duplicate the Brown fight here, but Trinidad was a helluva lot faster than Brown, and his power more explosive.
