Never heard of the hemp protein diet Chris Byrd is on, so this fight can help answer that. Tito punches will not impress Chris, as long as Chris makes sure Tito doesn't land more than Heavyweights did. Tito will not find Byrd elusive at all, so he will be able to land more. It's an interesting fight. Both fighters lose the advantages they were famous for...
I saw one of his interviews about his diet, I don't think that's a get boxing ready diet at all LOL. I'd love to say Tito's punches shouldn't effect Byrd, but the Shaun George fight still looms in my head. Shaun George was not a puncher at all and he pummeled Chris (a much younger version). I agree with you, I can't imagine Byrd having any semblance of elusiveness left.
What do you want a world champion to do? Watch his cells close shop one by one? If he wants to fight Felix Trinidad or Margarito, Sergio Martinez, Miguel Cotton...He should do it, very interesting, better than hearing bad news about ex champions
Byrd looks like **** on the heavy bag. He has no energy and slow as a sloth. He got feed the Vegan lie and look at the result.
Chris seems like a really good guy and I always respected his willigness to take on much more physically imposing fighters. But from my understanding, he's had a slew of health problems and physical issues over the years that should probably be dispositive regarding the issue whether or not to license him. I don't want to see him get hurt, which would assuredly happen against anybody remotely competent.
He is fully recovered, ex-champions get immense joy from getting back into action, so they suffer more pain from not being in the ring more than any other possible scenario. Chris Byrd will be better off taking on Amir Khan or Adrien Broner for the comeback fight, he is walking at 160 now, so 154 is comfortable. Also a good fight for Amir Khan or Adrien Broner. If Chris Byrd wins then he can go for the 154 WBA regular world championship then move down to Welter or up to Middle depending on where his diet takes him
