spence. nobody has ever put spence in danger of losing. best his detractors can come up with is pretending he was hurt by a guy he beat into 1 giant bruise. tito was outboxed and outtoughed by a couple guys. tito needs you up close to land his get out of jail free card, spence wouldnt give him the range.

I love how you bring up that Pernell Whitaker wasn't a natural Welterweight, even though he'd been a Welterweight since 1992. And even moved up to Jr Middleweight, and took the title from the very good Julio Cesar Vasquez who knocked Winky Wright down like 5 times.

Yet you fail to mention that Mikey Garcia moved up two weightclasses to fight Errol Spence, if your going to use that to try and discredit Trinidad's resume. Then atleast be consistent and say the same for Spence aswell.

 

How old was Sweet Pea when he fought Tito, and how long of a lay off did he have before that fight?

Well he took a prime ODLH to the brink, in a fight many thought Whitaker won. Yes Whitaker wasn't in his prime against Trinidad, but still Trinidad was the only fighter to ever convincely beat Whitaker.

 

His fight against ODLH was 2 years before his fight with Tito.

 

might have been winning the tag competition, but he was getting his **** pushed in. till he couldnt hold it inside anymore.

 

Once he got the Oscar payday it went right up Pea's nose though. So there is that.

brooks downfall was thinking he could wrap himself around spence like he did porter, in order to control him. spence cured him of that notion in 2 rds. brook had no plan b.

 

Yes that's true he also had another fight inbetween ODLH/Trinidad, that was the no contest fight but I forget the fighters name. What I'm saying is that Whitaker fit right in at Welterweight, he wasn't some blown up Lightweight out of his depth like Mikey Garcia. Whitaker had reigned at Welterweight for a few years, and was considered the number 1 at that weightclass for sometime. And whilst he was past his prime against Trinidad, still Trinidad was the only man to beat him convincingly which does deserve some credit.

I mean it depends how you see it, Garcia moved up two weightclasses vs Spence and it was clearly a mismatch. Whitaker was past his prime, but was still a former P4P great. Garcia was younger but clearly not as good as Whitaker as a Welterweight despite his advanced age.

 

Garcia didn't move up 2 weight classes. He fought at 140 against Lipinets and Broner.

 

I hate H2H nonsense but I'm sure Garcia would be shut out and clowned by Pea.
