Iran Barkley by mid to late rounds ko. Trinindad isnt a middleweight, and at 160 his power isnt proven. Barkley has a good chin and also good power, i could see Tito taking the first couple of rounds due to his boxing but eventually being drawn into a brawl with the bigger and more durable Barkley.
I do believe he stopped Joppy at middle. Not just a stoppage either, but brutally handed Joppy his head on a platter. The same Joppy who Jermain Taylor and Bernard Hopkins FAILED to stop after Tito did. His power at 160 was fine, it was over 160 that his power failed him.
True, but i wouldnt put Joppy on the level of durability that Barkley was. I know where you are coming from though buddy:good But when Tito fought Jones it was as though he had 18oz gloves on, why the hell the guy wants to fight at a weight where he isnt as effective is beyond me.
Barley by KO-he was a big, powerful, and durable middleweight (who else can have Hearns tee off on you at will for almost 3 rounds-and then come back fir the KO?) Trinidad isn't much of a boxer, is easy enough to hit, and likes to exchange-all of which means Barkley gets through at some point to Tito's weak chin and stops him.
I'm not as high on Barkley's power as many are. But I think he's just too strong for Trinidad and will keep him ineffective on the backfoot.
I think Barkley was a legitimate puncher at MW, but yeah.. that aspect of him is a tad overrated. Barkley's strong enough to KO Trinidad probably, but he doesn't have much else. Leaky defense, come forward brawling style, Trinidad will have a field day timing and countering shots on Barkley's chin.
Jones was shot, Tito was even more shot and at least 2 weight classes above his best weight. This was a show fight nothing else. Pure money without any value for the sport. Actually these are the fights who are bad for the sport.
