Felix Trinidad vs Jake Lamotta at 160lbs

It depends. If La Motta's trainer had been able to discover Trinidad's secret the way Hopkin's manager did, La Motta would have "mauled him", as was pointed out above.

 

Trinidad tears him apart. A lopsided victory or mercy stoppage.

 

Jake steamrolls Trinidad...

 

Right Tito is going to "tear" Jake up but Ray Robinson who was ALOT more deadly and faster at middleweight had a rough time with Jake.

 

The fantasist in me sees this post as responsible for the red band hahaha

Tito punched harder than Robinson.

 

I don't know ... I respect Jake as a tough guy w talent but feel he's a bit overrated as well .. most of his big wins came against blown up welters but then again he fought tooth and nail with the best in Robinson, a monster puncher as well as one of the toughest men that ever fought .. Tito was a huge puncher right up to middle ... I was at the Garden when he fought Joppy and the shots he landed were brutal .. however while he may and I say may have been as good or even better as a puncher than Ray he was no where as durable ... I can see him doing what he did to Boy Campus or I can see Jake pounding it out and wearing him down over the distance ... tough call ...

 

Hard matchup. Felix Trinidad was leagues better than Lamotta talent wise. But Lamotta was bigger, stronger and had a chin that could withstand a sledge hammer. Tito also liked to punch and even trade from time to time which wouldn’t be wise here. Not totally sold either way but I can see arguments which would lean Lamotta’s way
