Tito would be beaten at every facet of the game here. The plodding hack would have no answers against a top level craftsman..as usual.
To me the date of weigh-in will be very important. Napoles is a natural lightweight who moved to welter. Tito is a natural welter, who was best at Jr Middleweight. So if they weigh in on the day of the fight, I go with Napoles. However, if it is on the day before, as we see in this era, then Tito is at 162 lbs and Napoles at 150 lbs come fight time. Look at the photos of Monzon-Napoles, and I think you can figure out what the result is going to be.
Even though I think Napoles was a beautiful fighter and was craftier and more skilled, I think Tito was way too strong for him, and because Napoles would not have run, Tito would have landed on him at some point, and as soon as Tito landed one of his massive bombs, he'd finish him.
I think Napoles would outbox Trinidad he is just to smooth unless he gets cut he should get a clear UD.
Felix Trinidad was a no-nonsense, great welterweight champ for sure, and would have steamrolled many a top fighter of today as well as from the past, but not Jose Napoles. Napoles was one of the many great super-champions that grace the boxing scene back in the seventies, and was way, way too slick and powerful for Trinidad. In some of his best fights, Trinidad made a trip or two to the camvas before getting up to win, usually by a ko. Against Napoles, he would have made a trip to the deck, and would have been kept there by Mantequilla Napoles. Pinpoint accurate counterpunches, sulbtle avoidance of Tito's big bombs, infighting skills, all would be coming into play against Tito. Napoles was at least a class above Felix. Napoles tko4 Trinidad.
