Can't access @ work, but here would be a top 10 off the top of my head. 1. Fernando Vargas 2. William Joppy 3. David Reid 4. Oba Carr 5. Yori Boy Campas 6. Pernell Whitaker 7. Maurice Blocker 8. Larry Barnes 9. Hector Camacho 10. Ricardo Mayorga Put the Oscar De La Hoya fight where you want. I thought DLH still won narrowly besides the ending, but I doubt you'll find many people that thought it was a good performance by Trinidad.
I agree with most of that except Larry Barnes W TKO 4 - that was just a routine defence for tito I would put his light middleweight debut in there when he stopped Troy Waters?? or someone like that William Joppy was his most impressive performance
Yeah, maybe the Troy Waters one instead. I thought the Oba Carr win was pretty impressive. Carr wasn't great, but he was a good, skilled contender. Trinidad showed some versatility and excellent punch selection. He wasn't loading up on his shots as much, but picking them wisely and doing gradual damage to Carr.
Carr performance was impressive when you consider Carr a bit older and more shop worn was able to take De La Hoya 11 rounds Tito finshed him off in 8
Carr also went 12 with Quartey. Carr actually fought rather well against DLH. He gave DLH more trouble than expected, and it was a pretty entertaining fight.
Now that Yory Boy is old, punch drunk, and shot to pieces, its easy to forget how huge that win was for Tito. Many people were calling it fight of the year, and the finishing flurry in particular was one of the most brutal I've ever seen. Campas was something like 54-0 coming in and Tito stared down the puncher and outgunned him with no questions ask. That being said: 1.)Vargas 2.)Joppy 3.)Campas
I agree with the list maybe some changes, but other than that great list... Trinidad will be miss, fought who ever... wow watching some of the highlights never realized how good Trinidad was with his body punch. Always knew about his left hook and even right hand, but not the body punch the set up for those deadly hooks :good
Tito fought everyone in their prime except for Whitaker, which was understandable because it's not like Tito avoided him for years (he was still coming up in the world). Even out of retirement, he took on guys like Winky and Jones. Truly a fighter's fighter.
