By the 5th round the team should have been pushing more of a cut off the ring walk down and overwhelm approach. It was clear silva couldn't keep pace offensively and wasn't willing to gamble enough in order to win. He's 22 he will learn

that bum Felix fought last night was hilarious. Guy landed what, a total of 50 punches and actually thought he won the fight.. Sitting there celebrating and smiling away all confident, and when the scores were announced showing he only won 1 round on 1 judges score card he make a face as if he was robbed! LOL What an embarrassment.

His talent level has no ceiling, he's one of the handful of true elite level talent across his board

I hope you aren't judging by seeing one fight

Verdejo is the only legitimate prospect that I follow. He's the only fighter we have to look forward to since the last generation of Puerto Rican fighters have been the worst in the entire history of PR boxing.

I want him to do good and achieve greatness, but I'm just not seeing it.

I saw the same thing. I have seen Felix get inside before and attack the body a lot more. I don't know if this guy was just too difficult to get inside or it was just strategy. I didn't like it.

Fair enough. I see your point. There is room for improvement but I do see the star potential. I hope his corner take notes. One important characteristic is he looks like he can learn more. Unlike Juanma that no trainer on earth could teach him anything new.

He needs to open up more. Hes explosive and hits hard but hes content with just winning rounds

Verdejo looked more cubic zirconia then diamond in the rough.

He's going on 23 and is still throwing out question marks.

I like verdejo he's still very young and will only get better. He looked good against a guy who didn't come to fight.

I've never seen someone lose almost every round if not every round and actually think they won the fight. It was funny how HBO was making a fool of him though. What a delusional moron.

What fight were you watching? Verdejo was punching air all night and silva was laughing at him. He didn't land anything, but neither did silva.

Silva exposed your boy pretty bad, didn't have a scratch on his face.

Anyone laughing saying "judging by one fight" hasn't been paying attention. Verdejo looked terrible against Ivan Najera as well. This is why I thought Silva would give him fits, and he really did. Silva needs a new trainer, though. He's still learning, but I think Silva with a better trainer has a higher ceiling than Verdejo.
