I am a boxing fan. I think boxing is a sport. And MMA is equal parts sport and circus. However, there is ONE guy who deserves even boxing fans' attention.

    That guy is Fedor Emilianenko.

(some will say how about Silva, GSP etc.? Personally I think they are good, but hard to really tell because the level of competition is so much lower and fights are matched within the same promotion.. One thing though - Fedor is for real)

Please watch this vid to get an intro to this unique fighter with whom we share this planet at this point in time:

Fedor is the Sugar Ray Robinson of MMA, he will be spoke about 50 yrs from now, the man is just a machine.

I am not a hardcore mma fan but i have a few guys i like to watch.

What i have always wondered though about Fedor is his body type ... i realise that body builders do not make the best fighters.
But Fedor does not really look impressive at all.... that said .. i have seen his training footage and his training is simply brutal to say the least and the guy never runs out of steam.

Is this about the most trim he can get and its simply genetics or does he carry some body fat for endurance or what would it be?

We as boxing fans should respect all others who achieve within their given field regardless of whether we like that sport. Respect for accomplishment should be universal.

Fedor has taken on foes far larger than him which could be considered similar to moving in in weights - especially as unlike in boxing there's more intangibles to account for like the fact of a guy 60 lbs bigger than you bull rushing you. Reversing things like that is no mean feat.

    Fedor is a legend.

I accept that this might come across as an ignorant comment because I don't follow MMA but don't the best MMA fighters fight in UFC? Why isn't he in that? Like I said, I genuinely don't know the answer so any well-informed opinions would be welcome my end:good.

The owner of UFC wants options on Fedor ie to lock him into a contract & won't allow Fedor to touch any of his fighters unless he agress because he knows deep down (I think) that Fedor would beat them then go elsewhere & having bettered the best there would make UFC look weak.

I am a boxing fan but i do watch the big fights in the UFC etc and Fedor is just sensational imo. As someone said earlier, he is the Sugar Ray Robinson of the sport. I would also love to see him take on Lesnor. It would be brilliant watching the much smaller man overcome Lesnor with his brilliant array of skills.

hey that explains a lot about Dana's behaviour towards Fedor. Makes a lot of sense and if I was Dana, i'd make damned sure THAT didn't happen.

Dana White calls himself a fan of MMA but every fan in the world wants Fedor in the UFC, Dana has the power to make this happen & doesnt do it, he`s business man/selfish ***** way before he`s a fan, that much is guaranteed.

Whats wrong with letting Fedor fight on a fight by fight contract ?
MMA fans arent fans of UFC, they are fans of MMA, UFC just happens to be the biggest org, they want to see the best vs the best, if Fedor is fighting in another org, the fans will watch that to see Fedor, if he`s fighting in UFC, everybody wins.
