IMO there is nothing worse than watching women punch each other in the face.

Its still not great to watch but the more women get involved the more the sport will develop.Im not against it but i think it will be another 15 years or more before there is enough good female fighters to make it worth paying to watch an all female fight card.A few years ago womens boxing was getting a fair bit of coverage on big fight nights, this seems to have stopped which wont help the sport.Id like to see the top women fighting on undercards to big fights again.

Women seem to have greater motor skills initially. They pick up movements very quickly.

I do not agree with that, boys/men have way better natural motor skills than girls/women at anytime of their lives.

Based on boys/men are way better naturally at sport than girls/women. Men/boys have way better co-ordination and I have taught martial arts for 15yrs to see it 1st hand, like I said it is only my opinion.

womens boxing would be better if they fought topless, the ratings would be off the scale!

Don't agree. The women I have come into contact with have seemed to pick things up far quicker genrally, perhaps they were a bit keener. Can't argue too much mate- i'm sure in 15 yrs you've trained a lot more women then me. However physiologically speaking there is very little difference in the trainability of men and women. That is a fact.

My coach reckons they are easier to coach and faster learners because they dont have the same macho attitude as men.

Yes,most definitely women's boxing is on the up and up in Britain.I recently attended the ABAE National Female Championships in Portsmouth and was extremely impressed by leading English fighters like Nina Smith and Natasha Jonas .

Well worth paying a visit to the 2010 Box Cup tournament (both mens and womens events ) taking place at Alexandra Palace in North London tonight,Saturday and Sunday.

Many of the top British and Irish fighters are taking part inc the two times Womens World 60 kg Champion (+ 4 times European Champion) Ireland's Katie Taylor and top women competitors not only from UK but also Norway,Australia,Switzerland etc. Top mens and womens boxing for a tenner- half price for U16's. .Great value for money and an opportunity to see some of those who will be competing in London 2012.
