Jeff Fenech has been retrospectively awarded the decision against Azumah Nelson for the infamous draw, with the victory he's so been retrospectively crowned champ by WBC lol.

Very anticlimatic. I'm sure Fenech wants the money that comes along with it. :bump

Does Fenech retroactively get paid as the champion for his second fight with Nelson? Does Nelson get a third WBC 130 lb title for beating Fenech in the rematch?

Has this happened before? Surely will open a can of worms? I watched the fight live on tv, it was a robbery beyond belief. At the time if awarded the decision Fenech would have been the quickest to win 4 titles and the first to do it undefeated.

Does this open up a can of worms? Yes Fenech did win the first fight.

Could this pave the way for Greg Norman to be retrospectively awarded a Green Jacket? Pretty sure one year he lost and it was later revealed that the winner should have been penalised for an illegal ball drop, leaving Norman as the winner :risas3:.

He now is the quickest to 4 titles, and the first to do it undefeated.

Wow that’s great, what a massive robbery that was. Good on you, Jeff! Maybe we can start forming special committees and overturning shocking decisions a little quicker than 31 years after the fact now.

What's the chances of the WBC giving Golovkin his strap back for the first Canelo fight?

It’s a load of bull****. Fenech did not win the first fight. Uncle won it 116-112 that was my scorecard and Uncle ever the gracious gentlemen finished Fenech’s career in Australia in the rematch in his hometown, man against boy, Professor against student.

Great suggestion. I think people would be a lot more accepting of Canelo getting the decision in the second fight if GGG were to have received his just desserts in the first. The fight has massive historical significance & GGG deserves to be remembered as what he legitimately should have been at one time - Undisputed Middleweight champ.

Yes, he is certainly deserving of it but no way would Sulaiman take away the draw received by Canelo. In my opinion Fenech v Nelson was criminally scored, way worse than GGG-Canelo.
