Well we know Jeff wouldn't tell a porky, & he's a quiet retiring sort of bloke that doesn't like publicity, & he & Danny are such good friends that he would not want to cast any aspertions, so I don't know why he would want to give anyone the impression that things were not on the up & up.

It's all such a mystery it is.

 

i have actually thought this ever since the Jones-Hopkins fight still went ahead even after Roy's KO by Green.Roy throws fight cleans up betting against himself through 3rd parties gets 3 million blames hand wraps and still gets his payday against Hopkins.pretty smart.:yep

really?? everything i read before said it was 10 mill pot with a 50/50 split or 60/40 if there was a KO.i know i didnt buy it maybe noone else did either.my above theory may be inspired by reading too many SW posts.

 

Ask yourself where the ten million came from. Ticket sales were non existent (and I'd bet there were a lot of 'paper' ones in there, where they are given away or two for one sales) and it was a flop on PPV.

Roy would have been lucky to make a dollar on his promotion.

 

A couple of friends of mine bet on a number of options, one of which being one being a round 1 KO. I though they were off their head but they had last laugh. They have absolutely nothing to do with boxing too.

 

makes sense.the 10 million must of been a pre fight guesstimate.they are not the draws they used to be.

 

The part that looked suss to me was how Roy and Danny were pretty much in center ring for the most part of the round. For whatever reason...Roy backed straight up in to the corner without much pressure being applied to him.

The counter point to that is - Roy has been fighting on the ropes for a while now because his legs are gone. So it wasn't unusual in that sense.

Fights and fixing does happen. Whether it happened here, who knows.

edit: Fixing pretty much implies Greens camp were involved. That may not have happened at all. More likely that if something was up, it was Roy who had a pre-conceived plan to hit the canvas and find a way out.
