During the footage shown of Briggs training with Fenech in the ring . Fenech says to the camera that when Briggs gets his footing right he hits harder than Danny Green. Typical hyping up the fight..

Well we all know that for some reason or another Fenech left or was kicked out of the Briggs camp.

Than came Fenechs moaning about the mis match which some of us took as Fenechs sour grapes.

well now I'm starting to think rather than just having sour grapes or a gut feeling, maybe Fenech witnessed something with Briggs that should of kept him out of the ring.

I think its silly people saying that Briggs took a dive or even the fact of lack of fitness. Because in regards to fitness the fight didnt go long enough for fitness to even become a factor.

I think what we saw last night was a sick man who didnt full realise the extent of his previous brain injuries untill he was already in the game and the jab was enough to legitmitaely knock him (Briggs) out.

I believe when the two men touched gloves at the start of the fight you can see in Briggs eyes a sense of dread and omg what have I got myself into.

    Anyway just an opinion.

Fair post under the circumstances. It certainly justifies Fenech's pre-fight newspaper comments.

Didn't like the look of the Briggs from first mention of this fight. The footage with him training with Fenech & Billy H looked like someone having a boxing lesson, not a fit guy training for a title fight. Briggs entered the ring fat, and even his limbering up in the rooms prior to coming out just looked crap to me.

.......Its a Nice thought and all.

But Muhammad Ali Could get in the ring now days and take that Jab.
How sick could he really be? He must be on his death bed.

It's really only one of two things Rooster:

1/ A dive - as part of a 'Fine Cotton' quality betting plunge - and a very poorly performed dive at that.

2/ Brigg's head is already stuffed from previous punishment, and he WAS genuinely as disoriented as he looked, both on the canvas and staggering out of the ring.

Either way there's a lot of answers required here, and no doubt there'll need to be a big investigation of all concerned.

There's a number of people involved in this who might come out smelling as bad, or worse, than Briggs himself.

Has he sparred at all? You take better shots then that Sparring with Head Gear....Something is up here, and i dont beleave this health thing, yes he might be sick, but that was a clear Dive....The Punch hardly landed... If it was a solid jab and he Went down....Thats bad enough but you could make a case for his health... But this Punch didnt even land.

Yeah, I'm favouring the 'dive' scenario. But I'm still waiting to hear if Briggs has been admitted to hospital with a brain aneurysm or something.

Thing is, the little footage that I saw of his prep, he looked fat and sluggish. Surely with the experience of Fenech, Billy H etc, they must have picked up that Briggs was shot to the shithouse, and it was a case of lamb to the slaughter.

Sadly, either way - dive or no dive, it's just one farkin' huge disgrace!

(the betting agencies probably won't pay anyway - so Briggs has possibly just done his match payment, his wager and his future in the one night - assuming it WAS a dive of course)

saw the footage and it looks like a genuine dive to me. TBH though, my first thoughts, based on my non existant respect for Green, was that Green orchestrated the whole thing, but the more it went on after the fight and the comments he made the more it was obvious Green was indeed not acting and it was genuine rage. Props to Green for composing himself as well as he did.

Green this is the first time in history I will take my hat off to you and say that you werent faking things...

Briggs were those $$ really worth your legacy? You might regret this down the track. And probably write a book about your regrets which in turn will generate more of your beloved mullah....

I dont take my hat off to him....His the guy that went after this fight....This fight should have NEVER happend, He should be fighting current contenders. HE Made this fight happen. His as much to blame as Briggs. Both Men should NOT be paid for this.

my hat was taken off for him not being fake there. He still hasnt won my respect mate... .. especially for making in this fight in the first place...

but his fake retirement due to his epiphany was what was the last straw for me...

Agree 100%. This fight was an absolute turd from the second it was contemplated and blind Freddy could have seen it would go pear shaped. Had Green not stuck to his post retirement formula of only fighting shot, washed up, has-beens we may have seen a quality fight.

I pity the poor buggers who forked over $50 PPV or actually went to the fight. Everyone associated with last nights cluster **** should hang their head in shame!

This kind of garbage is the reason boxing is going to the shithouse. Check out how much boxing Main Event is showing in August = NONE! Even though potentially high quality fights like Marquez v Diaz and Dawson v Pascal are happening. They are offering plenty of MMA though!

I saw the opposite. I thought everything about what Green did after the fight was pretty fake. I do think he was genuinely surprised but the rage act that he put on was worse than a love story acted out by Keanu Reeves...

Nah mate, what you saw in Briggs eyes at the glove-touch was a bloke who had planned months ago to take a dive at the first opportunity.

Main Event are really pissing me off with their erratic coverage of international boxing.
You dont know which cards they are gonna show to maybe 3 weeks out most of the time.
Then they say they will show a card & then change their minds like Ward-Green.:patsch

exactly.like his fake tears when he had a fake epiphany with his fake retirement.why is a ''world champion'' fighting someone 3 1/2 years retired due to health reasons anyway? same reason he fought Siaca zero risk?i didnt buy the Siaca abortion but i bought this.disgusting
