Tough call this one. Both come forward types with genuine artillery and always happy in the thick of battle. At his best, McGuigan had this wonderful rhythm, almost hypnotically dipping, sliding, never keeping his head in one place and never moving forwards or backwards in straight lines. Fenech wasn't as refined as Barry. He's was a real tank who would roll forward starving his opponent of room and his punches could knock lumps off you. If Barry is going to have a chance here he's got to set a high tempo right from the first bell an somehow stick with it all the way through the fight. I can see McGuigan flying into an early lead but Fenech closing the range and landing his thumping shots from the middle rounds. Barry would hang on and go the distance but he loses by two or three rounds on the cards.
McGuigan had a all time great body attack. After las Vegas he had no drive. He could have been great. So great. Wasted gifts!!!!!!!!##!
