He said that Vitali nor Vlad would ever be a world champion, not even contenders....................Bobby Czyz used to commentate with him..............

 

add me to the "can't stand him" list...He was the worst/most overly negative boxing commentator I've ever heard.

 

i like that he's intelligent and was obviously passionate about the sport

but i agree, he was harsh sometimes.

 

Total ****!! Probably the only guy in the boxing world except for maybe Rock Newman that made my skin crawl and my blood preassure soar on sight alone.

It's amazing that a guy who saw so many great fights in some of boxings best eras could at the end of it all still no nothing about boxing!!

 

Perhaps the worst tv commentator in boxing history!He will always have that to claim all for himself.Honorable mention to "Col." Boob Sheridan though.

 

its funny because I felt the exact same watching that documentary, I've read other interviews where he comes off much better and heard others praise him, but after that documentary, based on his own words about smokin joe, I have definitely lost respect that I can't gain back for him.

 

bob used to be solid, hes become such a chump lately though, and its obvious to me sometimes he still does a decent job, but at other times he has been given an agenda. and his constant pushing for low blows when a guys behind is offputting. my vote for worst commentator goes to bernstein, he seems like a nice guy and harmless in his ineptitude, and I don't want him fired or anything, but man he has no clue most of the time.

I'm sorry for the lack of insight or discussion but he's an out and out ****.
I'm sure I had a book of his years ago but it can't have left much of an impression because I don't think I finished it.Not even sure if I've got the right book.
Was it "The greatest rounds in Boxing"?
Must have been **** anyway.

Pretty much all he picked were "historic" rounds. Not great rounds with two-way action.
