Rodríguez last fought in May, taking on Sergio Alejandro Blanco who fought on the undercard and defeating him via unanimous decision over eight for the Córdoba state 130lb title.

Blanco, including tonight, has fought another 5x since then.

Round 1

Saucedo is holding out his left arm, fully extended, swirling in slow motion instead of snapping a jab to hold Rodríguez at range. Saucedo takes a long step in with a swooping right uppercut on the body. Ref calls a break as they clasp up. Rodríguez is pinning Saucedo's arms down up close. Saucecdo catches Rodríguez with a long hook as he trots in a circle around him. Saucedo drills in a right hand and hits bicep as Rodríguez tucks in tight and hedgehogs into him. Ref being kept busy, ordering breaks. No-look right hand line drive by Rodríguez falling in, then moving laterally while slouched over. Another clinch.

Round 2

Rodríguez is being controlled with the incisive jab as Saucedo presses in. Lots of head clashes as Rodríguez pitches himself forward into Saucedo, who complains in the referee's direction with a demonstrative pull-back to show he isn't the one initiating. Rodríguez is doing lots of running on the outside, inches away from the ropes. Rodríguez nervously flurrying as he leaps at Saucedo, getting timed with jabs before they clinch.
