Rodríguez is sashaying away from Saucedo, bow-legged, flipping his elbows in toward Saucedo while bent at his sides in a chicken-like motion to parry. Saucedo is bullrushing with the jab and getting tied up. Saucedo hitting on the break with a love tap left hook on the right temple of Rodríguez. Limited success with the double jab and right cross on the stomach by Rodríguez, driving Saucedo into retreat for a few steps.

Rodríguez is doing lots of low ducking, causing Saucedo to dust the back of the head when he drops in right hands. Saucedo rips him with a left hook when he stands upright. Saucedo is getting flurried in the face as he steps in, and then grabbed when he's near enough or forced to reach down as Rodríguez bends deeply below the waist.

Rodríguez is throwing underhanded body shots as he meets Saucedo halfway spiraling in on him after failing to outrun him. Saucedo is now tossing him off with two-armed shoves and not waiting on the ref. Lead whip-crack rights up top and left upper-hooks on the body from Saucedo pressing forward until grabbed. Short door-rapper lead rights in the clinch by Rodríguez, knocking on Saucedo's left cheek. Rodríguez has a cut by his left eye from the frequent head clashes.
