I think this guy is the real deal. Aside from his 5'9" frame, this guy is the complete package IMO. Not only the physical skills but the heart to match. When pushed, he seems to want to answer your shots ala Tim Bradley. Great workrate, great stamina, solid defense, solid jab, can fight on the inside, can box, good foot movement. You just get the sense that when you watch this guy, he's an A level fighter. He's only 23.

What are your thoughts on this guy?

Very exciting young fighter to watch. He still needs some work before he's ready for a title shot, but it has certainly been fun to follow his young career.

Every "step up" fight in his career has been a very tough one, but the promising thing is that once he gets out of the fight with a W, he continues to improve beyond that level.

One thing I'm a little worried about is that he seems to be lacking 1-punch KO power. He landed a bunch of clean shots against Smith in his last fight, but struggled to hurt him. And even in his previous fight against Michael Walker, he couldn't knock Walker out despite a 50+ punch flurry, and the doctor finally stopped the fight as Walker sat there and took punch after punch.

interesting to see how he'll do against the incredibly deep set of prospects at 54-60. In a year or two the division will be incredible.

Yeah, he's definitely more of a volume puncher and lacks that one punch KO power.

I doubt he ever fights at 154. He started his career at MW and has weighed in at 164-66 lbs several times. And he looks to be in fantastic shape. I think it's just that he's a naturally muscular guy and despite his 5'9" size, MW is the lowest he can go.

I'm just referring to the general range of fighters between 54-68, a lot of people like Omar Henry could end up fighting at higher weights sometime soon for example

Has skills for sure but he likes to hit the canvas ALOT. You have to remember that this kid hasnt boxed a real middle weight yet, the guys were all 154lbs really and were able to hurt him. A move down would be wise because the real boxers at 160lbs do hit alot harder than smith.
I can see why he has alot of fans because his style is tv friendly and he seems like a nice guy from what i seen in interviews and on radio, but 160lbs has a lot of big heavy hitters coming through right now......

I like him a lot (obviously), but I don't think he's the next great middleweight. I think Jacobs, Golovkin, N'Jikam and Lemieux will all be better, and possibly Korobov and/or Pirog as well.

Interesting. What exactly about Guerrero do you not like? His lack of height/size? His lack of pop? Something else?

Only his gloves touched the canvas when his was knocked down by Ishe. And he really didn't even appear to be hurt. Now I only saw him fight twice, so you must be referring to other bouts that he must've been hurt???.

The Ishe Smith fight was a great learning experience for him and tested his heart. He didn't fold. I think he's gonna do some great work in the division.

Actually, he has some good power. Ishe is just a tough, tough customer.

If you see greatness in that guy you need your eyes checked.

    It's wishful thinking.

    He's not 5'9

He's more like 5' 7 and got dropped on his ass by WW Ishe Smith

    HE'S TOO SMALL for 160
