Completely disagree. If they ever fight, Guerrero will win a clear UD over Pirog. He's just a better fighter. Jacobs is so basic. He uses the 1-2 and relies on his athleticsm to beat inferior guys. Guerrero not only has the raw talent but the heart, work rate, foot speed, willingness to learn and ability to fight inside to beat Pirog.
You like Guerrero, i can see that. He's a good prospect but i think you're just a bit too defensive. I just don't think he's on Pirog, Korobov, N'jikam, or Golovkin's level tbh. Time will tell though, he's got talent for sure.
Yup, it comes down to opinion right now. Nothing more. When i see a fighter who not only has the raw talents but also has the right mentality and heart, i think he can go a long way. And i believe in Guerrero. A lot of guys have heart but not the talent. Some guys have talent but not the heart. Some have both but not he work ethic. Guerrero has it all IMO. And that matters.
After watching last night's fight, i'm convinced he can be a dominant force at 154. He weighed in at 157.5 so he should be able to make 154. Just everything about him screams A level fighter. First off, i love his footwork. He's always thinking defense first and almost always leaning on his backfoot to back away when his opponent attacks. But he's got a great offensive game. He can throw combos, good jab, good body shots, nice straight punches, fast hands. He's also great at turning guys. The only question with him like all young guys is his chin and power. I don't think he's got much pop though.
See the other thread... Guerrero took too many hard punches from a "3 weeks notice" kinda opponent. I'm not convinced he's even a "world class" MW, let alone the next "great" MW.
The fact he isn't considered amongst the best contenders by most just goes to show the depth of talent in the division. He's a very good boxer, but he has some flaws. He needs to be better than the Guerrero who fought Smith if he wants to be the next great middleweight but he has lots of potential and is young. Time for him to step it up.
Like i asked you in that other thread, tell me what you DON'T like about him as a contender at 154 besides his lack of pop.
