According to FN, there's a chance this fight happens next month, though it's not officially a done deal.

Interesting match up to say the least. Smith is durable and slippery. He's extremely hard to look good against. But he's not exactly the busiest fighter in the world so he can be outworked. Either way, Smith represents a significant step up in class for Guerrero, and I wouldn't exactly be surprised to see an upset.

Shawn Porter and Garry Russell Jr. will also have televised bouts on this card.

    Fernando by KO. War Guerrero!

He's looked better than Danny Jacobs in every fight they've had with common opponents, so I think he'll KO Smith, who took Jacobs the full 10 rounds.

It'll be tough. I don't think Guerrero gets the stoppage in this one, and he'll have to grind out a decision. He could come unstuck in this fight if he doesn't improve his defence before then.

I agree that Smith is step up for Guerrero and an upset wouldn't be a surprise. I expect Guerrero to outwork him and score the win but Smith is a solid opponent. I thought the television undercard was going to be Porter as well as Lanard Lane-Mike Dallas.

I'm really sick of Shawn Porter coming as a package deal with Fernando Guerrero - he's no fun at all to watch. Hopefully he gets KTFO by some journeyman and disappears from TV.

As for Sugar Shay, he would provide a nice comparison between Guerrero and Daniel Jacobs. A stoppage would be a big statement for Fernando.

Interesting. They keep feeding Guerrero Danny Jacobs' leftovers. I think he'll win more convincingly than Jacobs though, just because he's more aggressive (although he's also a lot easier to hit).

I agree with most others here. Smith is difficult to look good against, but he simply lacks the output and aggression to capitalize on the diffculties he causes opponents. Smith is just good enough to lose.

Good fight. Hard to predict though, Jacobs is recognized by the boxing world as by far the better talent with his speed, athleticism and overall skill level, and yet Guerrero might outshine him, and IMO that's exactly why Fernando's team took the fight. It's a great fight for the experience because Smith is a very capable fighter, but from the shining standpoint it might be unnecessary - because by the end of July, Jacobs either will be a world champion, or a prospect rushed into a crushing loss.
