Fernando Montiel Fight?

despite winning on the scorecards, montiel doesnt look so good

 

Fernando looking pretty average.

This Rosas is tough and is putting a lot of pressure on him, making Montiel uncomfortable.

Obviously Montiel has underrated this bloke, perhaps came in a little under done knowing it was a non-title bout.

Needs to work the body more to slow this bloke down.

 

rosas keeps coming in and smothering montiel. montie catching him with good shots, but has looked ugly in winning rounds.

 

azteca scorecard is a joke. they have it 6-0 despite rosas winning at least 2.

 

6-0 seems a bit weird.

Though I must admit with the feed I have its hard to tell what is actually landing because it gets real jerky and blurry when they engage.

Better round for Monteil..Rosas slowing a bit, getting a bit sloppier.

 

Montiel for me is a bit overrated. Though kodus to the guy for finding a way to win against Gorres, and then if im not mistaken against Santos were in he was kd down and got hurt badly.. Vic and Donaire would both win against this guy.

 

Wow! Montiel doesn't look good. This kid Rosas is one tough mutha and is giving him a damn fight!!

 

People say Montiel is overrated but who really rates him?

He has long been the forgotten man at these lighter weights, and I think with reason, because he has his flaws.
But I like him and I dont think many people overrate him nor underrate him.

Fight just ended. I had it 6-4 Montiel. Wasn't too impressed with Montiel in this fight. The fight was ugly and this guy Rosas just kept coming despite the bombs Montiel was connecting. The kid's tough.

I don't know. I still have it 50-50 if Montiel and Vic fights, but I'm leaning a little bit to Vic now.

6-4 Montiel, had one of his better rounds in the last.

Pretty average from Montiel, but Rosas is tough and his aggression never let Montiel really set himself. Really kind of shows one of defining his traits can be a negative in certain fights. I mean I consider Montiel a boxer-puncher but whilst being very good at both, he is a specialist at neither.
Sometimes he seems a little confused at what approach to take but it at least gives him options to try something different, like how he adapted in the Gorres and Too sharp bouts.

Fernando is capable of better, he has shown this. I think he just didnt get up for this fight seeing it was a 10 rounder but I dont want to take away from the very good effort from Rosas. Id like to see him again.

From the best Ive seen of Montiel, I still actually lean towards him in a Darchi matchup.

 

I think this fight was at bantam, maybe Montiel does not carry his power at this division.
