He's the Champ, hence the ONLY reason why the ref gave him the benefit of beating the count. The ref knew he was out of it, and smartly stepped in before Donaire kills him. Would have been a very sad day for boxing, and traumatic for Donaire had it continued.
atsch rematch no way! donaire is too big, too fast and too strong for this division he need to chop much bigger superbantam or just unified the div
in either case....what's even worse is a beating for 12 rounds...and then a devastating KO in the final round (i.e. chavez vs taylor)
I would like a rematch, only because both fighters stated that whatever the outcome they want to meet up again at 122. I don't think Immediately, maybe after Montiel goes up to 122 and has a good win, maybe then they can talk about a Rematch if Donaire stays at 118 to unify, while Montiel takes on Arce-WV JR next, maybe Montiel wins, and donaire can come up to face him.. Never know, but whatever happens, I can't wait till both men are back in the ring.
I don't ever want to see him in the ring again. I'm sure his family members feel the same way... at least I hope they do.
Sometimes guys have too good of a chin and it could leave their brains mush. Dude's facial bone broke before his chin, and even though he got up he was mush. It doesn't really matter imo that he got up, cuz he was dead then, walking dead.
He just went up against a sensational fighter, that's all. Montiel will definitely be back to getting wins over top opposition in his weight class. Glad to know he is alright. He always seemed like a good guy. Not happy to see him lose like that, but the loss came against a very special opponent. There's no shame in that.
