~ Fernando Montiel stops Hozumi Hasegawa in 4 - New WBC/WBO BW Champ! ~

round 3 is hasegawa's... they both landed huge shots, but Hawegawa brought the fight to montiel and landend more.. nice fight so far. Good action.

 

Round 3

Hasegawa more aggressive now, his jab actually snapping and being followed by straight left hands. Montiel hugging the ropes and trying to disrupt Hasegawa's rhythm with staccato movements, jabbing off the backfoot and then leaping in with lead rights. A few moments of exchanged fire elicit oohs and ahhs from the crowd, I can only assume this means Hasegawa was getting the better. This is poor quality.

fuuuck meee! He wobbled Hasegawa in the last 5 seconds and fight got stopped by ref at last second... good god

 

Looking at the poll, not many people gave Montiel a chance. But goddamn! That was nasty.

Round 4

Both jab and parry-jab. Montiel comes forward off-balance and winds up behind Hozumi, who spins around and throws what nearly lands as a rabbit punch. The ref gives him a "hey, watch it". Hasegawa in and out behind the jab and able to surprise Montiel with a left hand. Montiel looking for a lead right and gets it to graze Hasegawa. At the ten second clap Hasegawa and Montiel each land a hook - Hasegawa appears more hurt and stumbles back. Montiel jumps on him and unleashes a barrage that has the doctor step between them and wave his arms with exactly one second left in the round.
