Gutierrez sends Diaz into retreat with a pair of hard right hands, well placed. Diaz is losing his defensive rhythm now, getting cut off whenever he takes more than a couple of steps in either direction. Diaz leans into Gutierrez, trying to stem the flow of body shots. Constant pressure by Gutierrez. BIG LEFT HOOK DOWNSTAIRS!! THAT HURT DIAZ VERY BADLY!!! Tie up. Diaz pushes off and backs up several paces. Gutierrez keeps coming, and ripping away at Diaz's torso. Diaz backs up with a jab/uppercut combo to get some space. Major round here for Gutierrez, a big reversal of fortune from rounds 2-4. Body shots and jabs landing for Gutierrez as he pursues Diaz across the ring.

Round 6

Gutierrez is building on his success in the fifth, harassing Diaz with intense pressure and body punching. Diaz starts to resume his tracking on the outside, trying to hold Guty out behind the left jab. Long distance spankings by Gutierrez. Left hooks under the elbows. Diaz managed to find a bit of his old boxing rhythm in the last minute, but ate too many body shots overall.

Round 7

Gutierrez is boomeranging in and throwing straight two-pieces to the head and grouping several hooks to the body. Diaz is backing up, covering up his face and throwing counter jabs and crosses. Heavy overhand right by Gutierrez. Now a shoeshine to the body. Diaz tries to step inside to clinch behind a right hand. Gutierrez is just pushing in and shoe-shining to keep Diaz in constant retreat.

Round 8

Diaz is hanging back, shifting his weight around to lean away and off to the sides to lure Gutierrez in and then pitching forward to greet him with counters. Big body shots by Gutierrez, slinging away recklessly with full force. Diaz slips a few jabs and leans in close against Gutierrez, then lands a clubbing right as Guty backs out. Straight right lead by Diaz!! Body hooks by Gutierrez! Big hooks downstairs! Diaz pushes him back with his guard and throws a few elbows in the pocket! Gutierrez is swinging wildly, and Diaz lands some short counter hooks to the jaw!

Very tight round!

Round 9

Ruiz throws a Sagat-style tiger uppercut and steps around to his left. Gutierrez is driving forward behind his high left jab and looking to slam shots home to the body once he's close enough. The crowd is egging him on. Gutierrez is breathing through an open mouth, his gum shield visible. Lead rights to the belly by Ruiz aren't going to help with that! Uppercut by Gutierrez as Ruiz leaned in too close! Counter uppercut by Ruiz backing out. Jabs and movement by Ruiz, keeping Gutierrez at the end of his wingspan. Ruiz trots around and jabs into Guty's face. Gutierrez shuffles forward and hammers the body. Ruizcircles to the right now, and lands a BIG COMBO TO THE FACE. A left uppercut and then a right. Big left hook by Gutierrez while straightening his bent knees! They close out the round fighting toe to toe.

Round 10

Ruiz lets a few left jabs fly from outside, then puts his weigh behind a big right hand. Gutierrez is throwing hard rights over the top, but not getting close enough to land them cleanly. Ruiz is keeping him outside with the right jab, now a southpaw. Now orthodox again, doing the same with the left jab. Nice counter rights by Ruiz, not letting Gutierrez near him. Gutierrez keeps on trucking, though. Reaching high jab by Guty. Ruiz steps straight back toward the ropes and Gutierrez is able to land a jab and straight right to the face as Ruiz had his hands down. Wild lunging straight shots speared out by Gutierrez, but Diaz is moving backward too fast for him. Loud thudding left hook from outside by Ruiz. Gutierrez pushes in and swings away hard, trying to build a shoe-shining combo from body up to head. Ruiz keeps punching with him, favoring straight rights to the head.
