Round 2

Montiel dances around to his left. Angkotta charges in on him and they bump heads. Neither cared for it much. Both grip at their foreheads with their gloves. Angkotta is slicing away with hooks to the body, hunkered down low. Montiel is skipping backward and countering with jabs and rights down the middle, and tossing some long-stretching hooks to the body for good measure before uprooting and backing up some more. Montiel is jabbing and moving, Angkotta stalking. Right hands over the top by Angkotta, and left hooks slicing out at the stomach. Montiel just keeps dancing back and jabbing into Angkotta's gloves. High right-left combo by Angkotta, and Montiel hops off to one side out of the way. Left hook to the body by Montiel, and a right. He shrugs his shoulders and pops his eyebrows at Angkotta, as though to say "How did that feel? :hey". Angkotta responds by targeting Montiel's body some more.

Round 3

Montiel hooks and moves. Warning for headbutts to both. Angkotta tries to drive him into a corner with a pair of right hands. MONTIEL LANDS A PAIR OF FLUSH HOOKS TO THE TEMPLE!! ANGKOTTA DOES A JIG IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RING, FLEXING HIS MUSCLES AND SPREADING HIS ARMS DOWN AT HIS SIDE LIKE A MADMAN!! HOLY CRAP! **** JUST GOT REAL! Angkotta is coming forward throwing hard right hand. Clinch. Angkotta is throwing the kitchen sink at Montiel...then picking it up from the canvas, hoisting it over his shoulder and throwing it again. Montiel is on the move, hugging the ropes and countering with straight right leads out of his tight guard. Left hook to the body by Montiel. Angkotta leans forward and walks into a left-right-left combo!!!! Angkotta had his gloves up to block but took much of that on the head!!!

That wasn't a bad guess, given how Montiel looked against Terrazas and how much Angkotta pushed Arce in their rematch.

However, Montiel is boxing very intelligently here.

Angkotta meanwhile is fighting stupidly as hell, but it's INCREDIBLY entertaining.

Angkotta = Mayorga. (I know I said Tyson earlier, but he's a multi-layered dude :yep)

 

He's only been stopped once in his career, in his second pro bout, by Muhammad Rachman who was a 46 fight veteran and would go on to be champ.

Angkotta is a tough dude.

Of course, Montiel CAN hit. :think

 

Round 4

More nice outboxing by Montiel, and some very crisp right hands launched from off the ropes after lingering for a moment to draw Angkotta in. The Indo keeps pressing forward and blocking many of Montiel's jabs, but isn't connecting with his body shots or overhands. Montiel is goofing on him now, shrugging rhythmically and spinning his arms around, lingering an extra moment on the ropes before popping a right or jab and then moving away, and getting cockier and taking more chances.

Round 5

Several nice jabs by Montiel. Angkotta is turned southpaw and using a Mayweather shoulder roll!! That's right, a reverse Mayweather shoulder roll!! Call him Angky "Shang Tsung" Angkotta - the man of many faces! The boxing chameleon!!!!!! He can imitate any style!! Maybe not well - but he can imitate them!!! Montiel is dancing back out of the way of Angkotta's overhand rights now (Angkotta has dropped the southpaw Mayweather schtick) and is tooling him with jabs and straight right leads. Big counter right by Montiel. Angkotta is just diving into him, trying to get a piece of the body or grab - whatever he can get. Montiel denies him the whole kit and kaboodle. WILD EXCHANGE! Montiel landed a hook but Angkotta got a left uppercut in that snapped his head back!
