He sounds just a little heavier but not punch drunk. He's always had a sort of slur to his speech. What's up with the mixed cards though. I hope it is only in lesser events. Imagine buying a payperview to watch a mega boxing star and having an MMA undercard. **** that!!!!
****ing bull**** man, he sounds fine.Yeah, hes not educated, maybe a little nervous, but punchy, ****ing wise up.:deal
Holy ****, he sounds terrible. Early stages of chronic brain injury. His speech is still legible at this point but he has the sinusy sound with the slow slur...and it will only get worse.
The hell are you watching? He definitely has the punchy slur to his speech...watch an interview of his from a few years ago, night and day.
Maybe your right, since I haven't actually compared the old to the new fat Vargas. From what I remember he has always talked with a bit of a slur. You know.... That westcoast laid back gangsta style. I wouldn't doubt he's punch drunk though, the dude had some wars.
Well he did/does but that is more of an accent and speaking style as compared to the delayed and less audible delivery of his words as he is displaying in this vid. Here is an interview of his from only 2 years ago and he sounds quite different. While you can still hear a small hint of a slur its very slight as compared to the first video posted. Punchiness gets worse with time, studies saying the average onset is 16 years after the start of a boxing career. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvn5pjlYvqk
If you compare how he talked back when he was fighting guys like DeLaHoya and Winky Wright compared to how he talks now, there is DEFINITE evidence of slured speach. He's just a fat **** now. But he is also punchy. I never liked his punk ass anyway. Some of my greatest pleasures in boxing were seeing him first knocked out by Tito and then knocked out by Oscar. And what made it even more pleasurable was all the **** he talked before both fights. He had the face of a middle school bully sitting on his stool after getting KTFO. Loved it!
You mean apart from getting KTFO by De la hoya, Trinidad, and Mosley. The guy is not right. That video is evidence of that.
Interesting. I guess you know of an exact amount of fights someone has to have before they become punchy? I'd like to know the # this way fighters can retire one fight before that and ride off in to the sunset. This will be a breakthrough for boxing. Thank you.
douche bag, he hasnt had enough ass beatings to be punchy....getting your ass kicked 3 or 4 times doesnt make one punchy.... yeah his 31 fights turned him into mush. forget about his first 16 fights which he didnt even get hit. ok, now we are down to 15 fights, 3 or 4 which he took a beat down. the dude is so ****ing fat and lazy his voice sounds different. its scary how much 90% of you posters know about anything. atschatschatschatsch
You must be punchy. Cause this is punchy "logic". Ok let me dumb this down for you a little... He started boxing at age 12...had 105 amateur fights. He also had to do this thing called sparring . He also had over 30 professional fights. During these events, he took many many punches to his head which are the things which lead to brain damage....you ****in idiot.
