Vargas was a warrior but also a cheater. He is in the same boat as Trinidad, Mosley and Margarito.

On my all time favorites list, i have many good warriors, many good boxers, a few great boxers, and a few great warriors.

Fernando is, and always will be on the very top of that list..... #1.... of all time, for all time.

Great find, i have never seen that before.... and you couldnt find many things on Vargas i dont already have, or have seen. Thank you for the lil gem :good

Yes,he started using the right hand more instead of the left hook and started to cut the ring off instead of just totally following Fernando around.

But I guess you can refer to those low blows.Vargas hit him back low, that's what you do.
People say that affected Nando,I disagree,I thought he was fighting good at the time and fought good for another 2 rounds after and then started fading.

So multiple hard blows to your groin doesn't have any effect? And before you even think of using my username against me I am defending my point that any fighter who gets low blowed multiple times would be at least somewhat affected.

Sure it affected him but not to the point that it seriously affected him.Like I said he was still winning after the low blows.

I don't know if THAT would have been the outcome but it definitely assisted him in beating Vargas...even if it was only a little bit.

He did it out of clear desperation. That's why I think even Tito knew he had to slow him down to avoid taking a beating and turning the tide.

the thing about the low blows, is that it halted the immediate momentum vargas was having at the moment. nobody can say for certain what would have happened for sure, but truth is that he had his best moments cut short due to powerful punches to his nuts, that halted his process. Maybe Vargas builds on his success and carries that momentum without the low blows, or maybe he gets cought earlier with a big shot when hes being aggresive, or maybe hes able to go the distance, ect, ect....

there are many what if scenarios, what did happen though is that tito indeed stopped vargas's immediate progress, success and momentum.

Tito low blowed when Vargas was coming on....fact.

Dirty ****ing Tito. I like him, great fighter, but he was a dirty Rican at time in the ring.

Off topic but I just watched the first Vargas-Mosley fight. Never saw it all. Awesome scrap. To bad Vargas' eye blew up. Fight was close and exciting.

to be honest m'man i cant remember, although ive seen the fight a million times its been so long i cant remember my score. But what i mean is IMMEDIATE success.... meaning if tito was feeling he was getting into some hot water, and he low blowed vargas.... it stopped that, right then and there, and it stopped whatever was gonna happen. Also i believe after the second low blow... tito regains momentum right away i believe with some nice shots.

but regardless.... its like this, if a fighter is getting into trouble, and he low blows to get out of it, and then still goes on to lose the round or next round, i dont find that as an excuse to say 'well see, he didnt stop the momentum' because indeed, the immediate actions were halted that was troubling that fighter.... and he was able to catch a break then and there, so wether he goes on to lose the round to me is mute really, because all im saying is that in the there and then, it gave him a break.

but, i have been over this too many times on these boards lol.... ive said my .02 on the subject, all i will say is that it was a great fight, tito is a great fighter, the low blows gave him a break during some of vargas's most effective moments, nobody knows what would have happened regardless, and Feroz will always be my all time favorite fighter.

    :good
