Pretty much this. Vargas in his prime was a terrific strong and skilled boxer. I think he was a better version of Canelo but he came around at a tough time and due to Tito, injury and weight he is forgotten to history only remembered by the hardcores. Not sure he beats all those guys but it wouldnt surprise me if he beat them all.

I don't know about that. I liked him but he was rather open to be hit by the better faster guys, and he lacked stamina. Best 154 pounders of all time? He is not in the Hearns or McCallum class. I even think the 154 pound Duran would beat him stylewise.

I have him ranked in the top 10 at 154, he fought the best in probably the strongest 154 era.

The only one giving him a close fight would be Lara, who in reality would be an awkward difficult fight for anyone. But yea, tho prime Vargas fell to an atg prime fighter like Tito, Tito had to pull out every trick in the book and fight dirty by punching south of the border to halt a comebacking Nando. You still gotta give Tito credit, he finished Vargas in sensational fashion and Vargas was never same, but a clean win, it was not.
