Fernando Vargas vs Sergio Martinez

I have Vargas beating Martinez. People seem to forget Vargas beat a prime Quartey and a prime Winky and gave hell to a prime Trinidad. I like Martinez but I think Vargas is too much for him on a prime for prime fight.

 

I remember Ross Thompson (solid gatekeeper) saying that before they fight... First think he said after being kod was how fast Vargas hands were,and how badly underestimated his speed.

Vargas was know speed demon but had above average hand speed,and even had good legs(movement) when he chose to use it.

 

vargas' kryptonite was a left hook, which obviously martinez dont have.....martinez krypto is a straight right, which vargas was a monster at throwing.....vargas will probably stop martinez late, or beat him up bad......

Vargas had pretty good speed in his leads and single shots, 1-2's were pretty good aswell...not much a speedy combo puncher.

Compared to Pavlik and Williams, he is Terry Norris.

Vargas had the skills to give Martinez hell, and Martinez's power would affect Vargas since he was down alot in his prime. This wouldn't be a close fight, it would be a dominant fight depending on who got the leg up in the early part of the fight.

 

I like both guys but honestly I think Vargas takes this in a tough fight...

 

Martinez wouldn't have beaten Winky Wright or Ike Quartey, let alone Vargas.

Fernandp would have his moments, but hed have trouble dealing with Sergios speed and power. Sergio starts fast and finishes fast. It might of looked similar to the Tito fight, but more one sided in Sergios favor. Martinez by Tko.
