according boxingtalk.com, vargas is coming out of retirement in 2010. i don't know if this is smart. he couldn't even beat mayorga who was suppose to lay down for vargas, in his farewell fight for his fans in LA. vargas is beyond shot, he's washed up and overweight. last time i saw him on tv, looked well over 300 pds and there was no muscle.

I doubt even his fans would want to see him in the ring again... There must be some other reasons!!!

One of my fav fighters of all time and i would love to see him fight again............HOWEVER, He should'nt. He made some good money, He should walk away while he still has his health and brain cells ( although he's gotten quite chubby ). Trinidad ruined him and from then on he just never recovered and have been lackluster. Time to walk away, for good.

I like Vargas. I don't wanna see him slapped around again. He's just not El Feroz anymore.

He'd need until at least 2010 to get back in shape. I'd be amazed if there's any truth to this.

of course he does , he has many years in front of him still.
30 is too young for retirement EVEN in boxing.
his style didn't pay-off even financially after all.
i wonder how much can he earn against some light-punching tomato can or something like this.

Hector Camacho JR told me yesterday that when he was in Cleveland this weekend--Vargas was at the weigh in and he was talking ****. They basically were both going back and forth. Vargas did say he would fight him. If you look on fightnews page 2 you Will see the vid of Camacho were he kinda mentions it too.
