    :lol: that is a bad move. nothing "healthy" ever tastes good. betchya he won't even eat from his own pizza joint. should just go with the mexican restaurant almost everyone likes that food, but for sure they'd need to put security to the fridge so fernando won't get to it. damn, when i saw that picture i thought he was getting ready for valuev

    I feel sorry for the guy. He was mismanaged and Tito's illegal handwraps and ball punches ****ed him up permanently.

    Vargas slurs his words now. It is sad.

    I loved the guy in his prime...

    Who were "some of the best"?

    Best = Elite fighter

    We all know he lost to Winky but got a gift to preserve his "showdown" with Oscar.

    Wow. "Ex sportsman gets fat in retirement" shocker.

    He's hardly morbildy obese. Pretty fat, but ****, he hardly needs a crane to get out of bed or anything.

    Why do people care so much, and do they expect ex-pros to train like they're still fighting or something?

    If he's 230 on a 5'10" frame.. he is most certainly obese. (33% BMI)

    He did not get a gift go review the polls on this site about that fight from the people who actually seen it most agreed it could go either way. I had it a draw but either was is fine it was a great fight. People call it a robbery IMO because it was so long ago and you see with all of Wrights success in the last 5 years and how Vargas has struggled its like to some newer fans how could Vargas have possibly won ? Well he did even what he was sick. How does a fight that happened in 99 preserve a fight for 2002 ? Maybe you meant the Trinidad fight I dont know. Ike Quartey was also an elite fighter at the time most actually almost everyone feels like he beat DLH and was one of the more dominant fighters p4p at that time and Vargas beat him clearly even out jabbed him just a great well rounded performence for him. Add in Vargas destructions over a prime Yory Boy Campas and Raul Marquez at the time and that fact that he did very well vs Trinidad and possibly couldve won if he wasnt low blowed every time he had serious momentum on his side. Take that into consideration and you got one of the best fighters out there from that era.

    darn, is this really vargas? i am stuck with the crew cut picture of him in my head as his ass was whooped by dlh and tito.

    But he did give a good fight. man, this is like what, 5'9 or something? at that size, he should be easily be around 200.

    I watched the Vargas vs. Wright fight live. He clearly lost that fight.

    You never know, he may be back someday. Local rumor has it that Fernando is burning through cash like a madman. Take it with a grain of salt, but he wouldn't be the first one to **** away his winnings.
