Vasquez good fighter a very big lightweight who had boxed as welter .
John has a high ranking with WBC and is in WBO top 10 he needs to be ranked in IBF top 10 i think for that fight to happen .
2011 I hope at long last is the year Murray gets his World title opportunity same for Macklin both need the buzz ,the fear factor fights to bring out the best in them both .

I would love to see John in with either Katisidis or Soto both fights would be candidates for fight of the year. Wasn't to impressed when I seen Rios last time out hes easily hittable would be good to see Murray fight Rios or Acosta for the WBA title. One thing I noticed as a observer of boxing over the years, pressure fighters need to be fighting. No matter who it's against, I've always felt that the best pressure fighters are the active ones they seem to be able to time getting in and out. With Hatton when he became big he was fighting once or twice (if lucky) and I felt suffered from this, it could be argued that it was the quality of opposition but he just didn't seem the same fighter after the Tszyu fight. Murray needs a promoter to get him consistent fights, fighting twice a year for a young fighter like John surely can't be doing him much good? I'd be intrested to hear Joe if you feel the same way with regards to pressure fighters?

i would mark that down as a 50/50 fight, vasquez is good but aint special, i here he is struggling to make weight as he grows in age, murray will give all the 135 champions problems apart from marquez:good

Gavin Rees former World Champion a joke wow your hard to please ! everyone is entitled to there opinion but for a lad with only 20 + amateur fights has won Boxing Writers ,WBC youth , English , British outright , European and one day is fortunate to have the honour to fight for a World title is not bad seeing some fighters who should of but never did have a opportunity to fight for a world title !

Vazquez is very good IMO, and has shown in the past he is adept to dealing with pressure fighters. I wouldn't rule Murray out, but Vazquez would be the favourite for it in my opinion.

Its not his fault lot of his fights he has fought have been his mandatorys set by the appropiate Governing Body . John Has sparred with World class fighters and takes great confidence from them sessions when moving up.
Who did Daniel Jacobs beat on his way for a Shot at Pirog ??
As far as Amir , i not opening up old rubbish but at the time both were lightweights Amir said he had sparred John and jon never put a glove on him it was mistaken identity both were after British Title which was held by Johnathon Thaxton, both from Greater Manchester and there was bit banter back and forth but Amir has moved up a new weight division and is doing Brilliant we wish him continued success !

The difference between Salita and Murray is Salita ain't much cop and was has a better story then skills. John obviously needs to step it up but he's not gonna get blown away at World Class level like Salita was..
