in 2015 Vitali will be like 43 and Wlad will probably have had more then 65 fights. I would be shocked if either one was still boxing by that point.

Not if he continues to fight the level of opponents he has. Plenty better prospects in England than Mr Wilder IMO but time will tell. I would back Fury, Chisora, Sexton, Dallas or Price against him now!!!

okay, so one moron on here said that and if you read the title, it says in 2015, and that could be true if the bros. are still fighting then, which they won't be but I dont think this thread indicates that hes being over-hyped. youre still just a hater

Name one 2008 boxing Olympian that gets more discussion than Wilder?

now obviously no one, why is that? hes not even a gold or even a silver medalist.

are you being serious with this question? hes the most discussed out of the American Olympians because hes the only one that won a medal, and hes discussed more than some others because the other HWs that beat him in the Olympics aren't turning pro... I can't believe you don't understand this

also, he might not even be the most discussed Olympian. I hear a lot more about Demetrius Andrade these days, can you argue that? he didn't win a medal

    That is exactly my point.

    Hence the thread
    http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=239536&highlight=wilder

If Wilder would never had medal nobody would be talking about him. Winning a Olympic medal doesnt automatically make you a fighter with
potential at the pro level but apparently guys like you seem to think otherwise. Despite the fact that boxing olympic medals arent really earned anymore in this day of age but handed out due to politics and corruption.

how many of those fighters are turning pro? I havent heard a thing about any of them turning pro besides DeGale and he is talked about. so if they arent turning pro, whats the point of talking about them in the pros, huh?

its not like a complete bum will ever win a medal, it at least shows potential, which is all Im saying Wilder has. Im not saying hes going to knock out David Haye next year, but he has a lot of potential in a potential-less HW division. you obviously just don't like the dude, so we're done here

He want a title shot next year. He finally is starting to throw the jab consistently.
