Fielding v Skoglund

    It looks like we could get this fight in December. Was hoping Skoglund got DeGales come back fight as would have help build a potential Smith v DeGale fight. In saying that I think Fielding v Skoglund is a great match up, both big SMWs. I would make Rocky fav for first half of fight but beyond that I would fancy Skoglund as he looks a better all rounder. What are people's thoughts on this fight ?

    I agree with you @moog I don’t fancy Fielding’s chances over the 12 rounds. Skoglund’s jab looked really good, he’d jab all night and he showed a great chin, too. Fielding has shown he has the power to turn a fight on its head so you never know. It’s a real crossroads fight for his career, will he win and go on to chase a world title fight or will he be destined to finish his career plying his trade against domestic level type fighters. I hope it’s the former but suspect it’s the latter.

    Would have thought a European belt or world title eliminator. It's very risky for nothing but respect . I think skoglund wins

    If you look at the guys Fielding has fought and in the main got decisions against. if he beats Skoglund he deserves a world title fight. As much as Callum Smith looked rusty against Skoglund, I also think Skoglund himself was as much as the reason for a difficult night. He looks a very solid all rounder who seemed to come down a division and do the weight very well.

    Skoglund for me as well. I just don't have confidence in Fielding winning on points. Fielding can punch but Skoglund's chin was shown to be a good one against Smith. Therefore I see Skoglund winning on points.

    Skoglund controlled a lot of the Smith fight with that excellent jab, can only really see Fielding winning if he bum rushes him in the first 2-3 rounds a la Brophy.

    I'd take Skoglund to win on points or late stoppage, he was impressive in defeat against Smith.

    Good fight, I see Skoglund as the better boxer. I see him outboxing Fielding for stretches and possibly stopping Fielding late on.

    Skoglund is a Tough fight for anyone I wouldn't imagine Degale would take as tough as opponent for a comeback ! Big risk for Fielding.
