I think it's fairly obvious from their first two fights that Gabriel Bernal was a harder puncher than Chitalada. He also broke Antoine Montero's jaw and hit Koji Kobayashi so hard that Kobayashi reverted to the fetal position, as though he were exiting the world the same way he entered it.
This is what Mathebula said years later about those KOs:

I was fit as a fiddle because I knew the type of a boxer I was facing, a three-time world champion. I dominated most of the rounds and somebody realised that I was winning and he decided to cheat in the final round. I heard the sound of the bell in round 10 and decided to stop fighting. The referee interpreted that as a retreat. He declared Gonzalez the winner. I was very upset to have lost in that manner and my camp immediately called for a rematch, which took place four months later.

Again the fight was staged in Gonzalez's home town and the same thing happened, but this time he stopped me in the sixth round. He hit me from behind as I was walking to my corner as I thought the round was over after hearing the bell. But the referee insisted that there was no bell. I could not stand up.
Obviously that's just one person's side of the story, but if true it wouldn't be the first instances of chintzy goings-on in a Gonzalez fight in his home country.

Inoue never even fought at 112.

Good list. I think Sot Chitalada, Danny Romero and Jorge Arce has to be up there as well.

If we can include super flyweights, Khaosai Galaxy belongs at #1.

Khaosai Galaxy, known in Thailand as "the left hand that drilled intestines". A stone killer.

What about Benny Lynch? It used to be said in Britain by many that he may have beaten Wilde. If he had laid of the bottle, he might have beaten anyone.

No, I don't think that Lynch belongs on that list.

Inoue might have fought over the limit while he was at 108, but he completely skipped 112.

And even if he has had a couple over the limit fights, being 4-0 against 4 nobodies doesn't get on you any list.
