mods, if this is against the rules, please remove it.
thought i would offer a little prediction contest. anyone can participate. i want to hear how you think tonights fight will go. give as much detail as you can. how, when, and who wins. wrong details wont count against you, so go heavy on the detail, cause that will separate those that pick the right winner, right rd, and right circumstances.
the winner will receive, from my personal collection, a fight program from the delahoya vs chavez fight in 96. mailed free of charge anywhere in the continental us. overseas pays postage. it is identical to this one and still in its original plastic cover.
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/3134636695...=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
i will post my prediction before first bell. so lets hear it, who knows their stuff?

I got Saunders winning 116-112 with most of the public and people on here agreeing with that judge but the other two judges going with canelo 115-113 and 117-111

Saunders to lose sd but he deserved to win

I see canelo stopping saunders around the 8th. Think BJ will have a couple of good rounds early on but think as the fight goes on canelo will turn the screw restricting Billy's space and doing a lot of body work. Once he has him gassing it's only going one way.

Saunders tries to move off and box Canelo in a negative, Lara-esque fashion, but the moments where Canelo presses him and had his back to the ropes, he works the body. Saunders' chin seems pretty poor at 168, having been hurt by both Isufi and Coceres, so Canelo stopping him with that massive overhand is definitely possible. I think Canelo's bodywork takes Saunders' legs and then he knocks him out.

I actually have a sinking feeling that Canelo stops him early, but it's not really based on much. Just something in my gut.

Saunders lively in the opening rounds without landing too much, while Canelo bides his time and stalks him, with the UK commentators having kittens about how slick he looks. Canelo lands the more meaningful shots ("But there's a reminder of the danger the Mexican holds for Saunders!"), but it's a quiet first four rounds. After the halfway point Saunders starts to run out of ideas a bit, becomes less mobile and starts to get caught more. He engages less and he won't win a round after the sixth. When they do trade, Canelo comes off best, buzzing Saunders a couple of times. It goes the distance but the cards of 118-110 don't disgrace the more realistic appraisal of it being in the 116-112, 115-113 range.

I expect a cagey and tactical bout, Saunders starts out well, nicks the first four rounds until Canelo adepts and starts to outhustle him in route to a 115-113/116-112 type decision.

I am going for Canelo to stop BJS in rounds 7 or 8 certainly no later than 10 rounds.

The fight might start cagey in round 1 as the fighters assess each other establishing range, timing etc but then don’t be shocked when it becomes transparent that Canelo is the better boxer out boxing Saunders. The Canelo assault will attack Saunders body and head while Canelo proves an elusive target for Saunders. Round by round the beatdown of Saunders continues and its brutal he get strectrched out on the canvass or he quits when his Dad Tom begs the corner to stop the slaughter.

Canelo takes a look at BJS for the first 3 rounds.

Walks him down but gets pot shotted coming in. Applies the pressure and loses 2 out of the first 3 rounds.

The British commentators are creaming themselves about a potential upset.

Then from the 4th onwards Canelo starts to dominate with body shots and landing the bigger punches. He clearly wins the 4th and it’s his best round of the fight.

Then the fight takes a pattern of Canelo walking BJS landing the bigger shots but also getting countered as he is punching. But those counters aren’t any where near as big a punches as his.

Eventually at around the 9th BJS goes for broke as he knows he has lost pretty much every round from the 4th to the 8th. He has his best round of the fight but then gets rocked and hurt badly towards the end of the 9th.

Then BJS goes into his shell in the 10th in survival mode and loses the round barely throwing a punch. In the 11th he just edges it as he comes out of himself. But loses the 12th as Canelo hurts him again a couple of times, but BJS shows heart to see it through.

The fight ends with Canelo winning 8 rounds to 4 rounds and 116- 112. One of the judges has it a lot wider than 116-112 though and this sparks controversy again.

I have BJS crumbling under the pressure and leaving the ring Broner style. The man is beat before he steps in.

Kind offer @bandeedo I'm not in the US and wouldn't want to take anything from you anyway but will participate for fun.

I see BJS actually trying to be like Tyson Fury from Wilder II and coming to claim the centre of the ring as this is his only chance to win.

Body punchers hate it to the body and BJS will try to work Canelos body and bully him.

Unfortunately for him, Canelos strength, power and chin are too much, after a couple of rounds fighting on the front foot with little success, Canelo hurts him to the body around the middle of Rd3 and finishes the round strong with BJS marked or bleeding.

Rd4 BJS goes into his shell and tries to jab and move but by this point Canelo is walking him down and he has more success.

    Rd5 Canelo takes off, uneventful.

Rd6 BJS gets countered and knocked down, when he gets up Canelo walks him down and finishes the job.

What if he doesn't crumble, because Canelo is incapable of making the needed adjustment? What is Canelo finds himself hitting air all night? If GGG can move a millimeter and make Canelo miss while in range, a constantly out of range Saunders will make him miss all night. I think you guys are giving Canelo, who's proven to be adept at outboxing face first plodders, more credit than he deserves. How many pure boxers who control range well has he faced since his match against Lara? Shot Cotto was a close match, against GGG he lost both, shot Khan and shot Kovalev both schooling him before what they brought in there for inevitable happened. Hell, even Jacobs, who doesn't control range very well took 5 to 6 rounds off of him. That's not a stellar record of incredible performances now is it? Eliminate them, that leaves Angulo, Beefy, Fielding, Callum, Yildirim, Kirkland and Chavez. Oofah! That's horrid. If those looping eye catching shots can't find their mark early, Canelo will get desperate, wear himself out hitting air and be in for a very long night. Because newsflash, it's not hard to walk down guys who are standing in front of it. Canelo is still fairly flat footed, and a plodder on the front foot. Do any of you see him being the hard charging guy, literally running after Lara? Is he even capable of that with the added bulk? This is not as cut and dry as most of you have allowed yourself to be convinced it is.

Its going to be a good fight, BJS will not lie down like the latest bunch of lemons.
Canelo is an excellent ,well rounded fighter , (which makes all the past shenanigans harder to swallow), lets hope that disappears along with Golden boy...he doesn't need to do that!
How ever I do think BJS will frustrate Canelo & as is apparent seems to be chipping away at him to lose his composure, doubtful ,as like GGG, Canelo is the ultimate professional.
Similar to the Khan fight BJS will be all over Canelo in the 1st few rounds, meanwhile Canelo weighing him up, as he stars to time him in & out , side to side etc, but Canelo will discover there is a lot more to BJS than just that! Also Canelo cannot afford wait to long, he got Khan out mid fight as he does tend to gas in later rounds. It surprised me when he said he will KO BJS in R10, I thought it was R3,which would make more sense. Unlike Khan, BJS also gasses in later stages but manages to hang on (Eubanks Jnr fight) does not seem to get that 2nd wind that Canelo sometimes gets. To me this because in the past the lack of dedication to training may catch up with him, TBH , I think for this fight BJS should have gone back to Dominis Ingle . Is BJS on par with Erislandy, as Billy says "Its one of them"...I think he is but Canelo has improved since then.

I think it will go the distance, as contrary to what people feel BJS does have heart & pride, this will be Canelos 2nd hardest fight after GGG. As we know, no one beats Canelo on points so BJS's attempt will be in vain, but nonthe less, in reality a close call.
One last thing, looking at the weigh in clips , imo it seemed that BJS did have a glimmer of apprehension at the stare down, just for a few seconds then he snapped out of it ...but as Mike Tyson said your scared/nervous until you get in the ring...
I am not anti-Canelo ( hard for some to believe I guess) but I am anti cheating, of any kind & Canelo or Golden Boy when handling Canelo have made a rod for his back...lets hope he can turn that perception around if he wants real respect...good luck to both men !

Canelo via UD or TKO between 8-12. An outside chance that Saunders wins a close UD. Saunders starts fast, winning the first 2 or 3 rounds, until Canelo starts to take over - applying lots of pressure & body attack. Saunders will slow done & be on his bicycle for the remainder of the fight, losing on points or getting stopped in the mid-to-late rounds.

Really don't get you sometimes you talk canelo down like he's a tomato can and seem to think billy has the movement of a ATG. Yes saunders is a tidy fighter is going to lack the power, when it comes down to being able to take it when they trade off there's only one I'd put my money on. Just hope it is an entertaining fight as ability goes tho canelo has much more in his arsenal to call on. Really looking forward to this one
