Fight Analysis For Crawford Vs. Benavidez — And Why Bud DESTROYS Spence (!!!)

So a lot of people are knocking Bud for not destroying Hose B, basically. They think that they have identified chinks in Bud's armor. I'm here to destroy that myth...

You see, Bud is an elite counterpuncher and that's where he excels, which is how he ended Hose B w/ that brutal uppercut — in the trenches of an exchange. Hose B played the counterpuncher and didn't move forward. So it was quite impressive to me that Bud pressed the action for the majority of the night and he displayed beautiful body punching.

And the reason the fight went to the 12th was because again, Bud is a counterpuncher and Hose B was a huge and durable mofo. Hose B's game plan reminded me Bradley and Teddy's tactic for the third Pacquiao fight dubbed The Log in the Ocean. Basically, Hose B was trying to draw Bud in to catch him w/ something huge. Bud was faster and glided all over the place in the ring. Bud was already fighting in a manner that was counter to his true skillset — which is counterpunching. Since he pressed the action for 90% of the fight, he got hit more. People basing a Spence win on this DKSAB!

Now, Bud is clearly the far better fighter, but he needs his opponent's aggression to analyze and dissect data to shine. Since Hose B stood there posturing for most of the fight, there wasn't a lot of Bud to analyze — and guys who play possum are usually extremely dangerous, which Bud was cognizant of. Which leads me to my next point...

After Saturday night, I am now more confident than ever that Bud will destroy Spence. Spence is all action and all come forward. There will be a wealth of data for Bud to analyze and maximize on his counterpunching skills. Basically, Spence will be walking into a buzz saw.
