Rooney has showed himself to be willing to side with Floyd Mayweather and whatever he says. People like that aren't boxing fans, just mayweather fans. Probably orders his WWE PPV's and follows his twitter account.
Between mayweather sr and 50 cent, how the **** does floyd think he has a case for his opponent to be the one linked to drugs? Come the **** on.
I hope team Mayweather are principled enough to see through all this.NASC have a vested interest to see Pacquiao passing his test.If Manny fails it will just show how incompetent NASC has been in dealing with doping and reacting to change.Realistically, those guys jobs depend on this and are they going to expose their incompetence? No ways. Either the USADA test or nothing.AFter all Manny always finds something to do to cancel a fight like he did with Hatton and Oscar. Floyd's team should press hard and not take this rubbish,Manny will sign for this.Arum has already shown signs of cracking by offering alternatives. He negotiates like a caveman and Team Mayweather should just ignore his behaviour. If Manny is truely on steroids he will move on because he's not going to make $40m fighting Malignaggi.Just use your common sense, there are no principles here,it's a matter of money.
Floyd can be friends with every drugs cheat, importer or whoever else, but it doesn't mean anything. Guilty by association is stupid. Anyway, this shouldhave happened from the start.
And I'll bet anything they don't. The reason is money!!! If they make it a rule then they'll have to do it for other fights. Who's going to pay for it? What about boxers that train overseas. Is the NSAC going to fly a certified tester to their home country?
:rofl:rofl:rofl:roflDont forget, Arum went to school and studied Law........ The NSAC is not going to make a direct call to have Pacquiao and Mayweather have to test, because if they did, they'd have to rewrite their rulebook that all athletes that are tested in Nevada have to go through the same protocol. The NSAC does'nt have the authority to enforce certain rules for specified athletes. There rules must be uniform for all athletes.......they simply could not force athletes for any particular one event to test differently.......but they could allow for the event organizers themselves to bring in other agencies to test if both sides are agreeable to them. In this case if an outside agency like USADA did testing on the fighters, the fighters here, Pacquiao and Mayweather would still have to submit urine samples to the NSAC because that is the law in Nevada, and that protocol would have to be followed there. Arum is only spewing **** out of his mouth, and he knows fully well that the NSAC cant on the spot change their testing protocol for just one set of fighters. The NSAC's rules must be unified......thats why an external doping testing agency must be brought in to test the fighters. If Manny is doping, he's simply screwed and this fight wont happen!!!!:deal
And there it is. Mayweather gets to present his case to the NSAC and they decide. That's the way it should be. If he rejects this offer, then he's ducking the fight plain and simple.
So now the governing body can't be trusted. Lets go ahead and have DLH and Mayweather run it. They're looking after the sport. Golden boy promotion the hypocrite and May who goes by the name money and fights for the money has no motives? What a twisted logic you have.
I'm sorry but in what way does anyone need to defend Mayweather in this case? Are you a bunch of idiots who have never negotiated anything valuable in your life? When negotiating it can get heated, conflicts do arise and alternative solutions are offered for a compromise. Arum here is saying that they will accept if Nevada wants more tests and now its up to Mayweather to accept this. You guys are acting like Mayweather has declined this proposal. I understand your guys dislike for Mayweather, I mean he is one hell of a fighter, but don't let it cloud your common sense.
Sounds like it's going to get done, which is great. It'll be interesting if the NSAC will be amenable to the changes that the Mayweather camp is suggesting. They may be somewhat intransigent insofar as it could reflect poorly on their previous methodology, but who knows? I still don't buy the argument that fighters should not be able to dictate terms like this in the future. The idea that only the commission can make changes to normal procedures and characteristics of a fight does not comport with the independent nature of the sport. This isn't the NFL or any other league; rather, unique contracting is the essence of boxing. Does that mean that Mayweather was being unreasonable? Maybe, but if he really believes that Pacquiao is on PEDs, then he has every right to seek extraordinary measures to mollify his suspicions.
