Khan took some big shots and didn't go down you have to respect him for that, but most of the punches wobbled Khan and/or really bothered him, so his chin held up but there are still question's his chin needs to answer. Lucky for him that he saw most of the punches and wasn't caught off guard or he would have been KOed, Khan hit Maidana with some nice hard, crisp punches to the head and they didn't even bother Maidana, thats how you take and react to punches and make claim that you have a chin how Khan handled the punches you can't claim he has a chin. The negatives for Khan in this fight was him constantly holding Maidana's head down with his elbow, warnings but no point taken, constantly holding Maidana's arm while Maidana was fighting on the inside and all out running when the heat was on. Cortez was so pro Khan it's ridiculous, especially in the 10th, when Maidana was doing serious damage on the inside Khan would grab his arm and while Maidana still had a free hand and was still landing (you are allowed to fight out the clinch) Cortez would jump in and break them that was bull****, but thats why GBP hired Cortez so what can you do. I don't see anyone out-boxing Khan he's so fast and has good power and nice combos, but he is so easy to hit and counter, he can't fight on the inside and lacks offensive toughness, pending the Bradley/Alexander outcome who ever wins to me will be the best at 140 and i suspect Bradley will come out on top. But i think Alexander has the best style to beat Khan, credit to Amir for those two wicked body shots he landed in the first against Maidana, that took alot out of Marcos and i believe took some power out of his punches for about 5-6 rounds, Maidana's stamina issues showed aswell maybe he was still hurt from the body-shots, at times it looked as if he didn't wanna get off the stool, But he sucked it up and made it a close fight and almost finished Khan, you have to give Khan props he won and survived an onslaught, but i give more credit to Maidana, a man who many said only had a punchers chance, whom Roach claimed wouldn't win a round and to some he was deemed too slow, Well this man overcame all that to make it a great fight and only lost by one point on my card (113-112), all with-out getting a knockdown and if it wasn't for that deducted point that was taken without warning and also (the elbow didn't land ) this would have been a draw. Not a dominating performance but gutsy one by Khan, Roach says he wants Mayweather but he isn't ready, Maidana wouldn't have won a round against Floyd, Khan almost died with his boots on, get some defence Khan is my advice to you and stay away from inside fighters and punchers with pressure the way you boxed early on was beautiful **** if you would have stucked with that you may have KOed Maidana, but in any event this wasn't a P4P performance, but a good win against a damn good fighter.
Hitta Da Hater is a punk ass ***** ho who wanted Khan to get KTFO'd. This **** was straight up Fight of the Year. Khan made me an instant fan when he demonstrated in spades the will to survive. Add to the fact that he was pounding his gloves high Pacquiao-style shows his love for the sport and a duty to entertain the crowd. This while trying to survive the relentless onslaught of a man who's programmed to knock people out. Fighter of the Year is going a little too far, but he should definitely be one of the candidates. :deal
