I doubt whoever spent the time crunching the numbers accounted for the cost of a week in a hotel quarantining.
None of this strips away the fact that anybody who pays £750 for tickets to this show is an utter mug. Think of all of the things somebody could do with £750. It's comical.
Hearn reminds me a bit of Wayne Lineker at Ocean Beach. £750 gets you a photo with Eddie circling the garden
It will be bought by companies as Tax writes offs. I have a mate who is planning to buy 4 tickets as he will put it through the company he owns to keep down his tax bill and have a good night out.
You keep saying this and is undoubtedly true and will happen Makes sense But dont underestimate the amount of young lads wiith no socks and loafers and a few grams that will want a piece of this Imagine calling Eddie like he is your pal in his Garden and being blanked It would be similar to this This content is protected
Did your mate elaborate as to how exactly he will be "putting it through the company?". As in what reason would his business have to spend 3 grand on boxing tickets?
Will likely be staff party or staff incentives. All businesses do it. Do you think xmas parties and team building days out are from the companies goodwill? I’ve been to football finals, horse races etc plenty of times on other companies dime all to keep the tax down
Even if you did put it through the company and it was tax-deductible, you're only saving corporation tax at 19%. £750 + £50 (booking fee) = £800 - 19% = £648 (net) £648 for a ticket to that shite is not worth it. Any business owner with sense would not bother.
Depends what that business owner sees as worth it. The guy I was referring to has a turnover of circa £15-20m a year and likely spends well into six figures on entertainment per year. A couple of grand is neither here nor there. that’s the market Hearn is targeting with these. Not enough value for me personally unless it was something special attached to it. But to some they don’t look at it that way.
Staff entertainment have a limit of £150 per head. Client entertainment is not a taxable deduction. It gets added back when the corporation tax calculations are done. You can pay for it through the company no problem but it won't necessarily mean you're getting tax relief on the expense. Or as some people think, you get the whole amount deducted off your tax bill.
