Round 1

Cruz countering to body and head as Zaragoza walks straight in. Quick hooks and line drive rights by Cruz. Zaragoza missing wild swings off the hip, getting ducked, turned and lit up. Cruz with looping rights, then going into a defensive shell, backing out, making Zaragoza miss a lunging hook, and tagging him a few more times while orbiting until they collide in a clinch by the ropes.

Round 2

Cruz is jabbing and baiting for counter hooks lingering in front of Zaragoza. Much quicker feet by Cruz, blasting Zaragoza from angles every time he makes him miss. Zaragoza down, arguing it was a slip but ref not buying it. Cruz is stepping around Zaragoza, covering up with his forearms steepled over his eyes, popping in quick pot shots. Lazy jab and overhand right combos lobbed by Zaragoza, hitting gloves or avoided completely by Cruz.

Before tonight, Cruz's last completed professional round was over 40 months ago. He didn't fight the first two years of the pandemic as he became a new father, and in June of last year he returned but claimed victory with a KO1. Then a ten month layoff since then.

 

Uglier round, lots of headbutts and clinches, but still pretty much Cruz dominance during the actual action. Zaragoza has cuts or reddening around both eyes. He's mauling and smothering but getting caught with hooks and uppercuts. 30-26 Cruz

 

Cruz switches to southpaw, not much else changes. Wild overhands by Zaragoza with both hands, all missing. Cruz countering his head off. Zaragoza with a body shot but it only enlivens Cruz, combos now landing upstairs & down while turning Zaragoza. Rushing in and throwing roundhouses, Zaragoza getting sliced & diced. 40-35 Cruz
