some might feel that way but the majority ive meet were boxing fans that never gave it a go before. Also these white collar shows helped fund the club i train at so i think there great
I watched it was a funny show. Nothing against white collar boxing though its up to them if they want to do it.
All the guys in the show came across as boxing fans, plus they are trained by an ex pro boxer, I thought there were some good tips on boxing technique etc.
Well I do it mate, and I go to boxing and like to think I know a thing or too about it. Also neither me or any of the guys I train with are rich. We are just guys that train and want an outlet to test ourselves.
im doing white collar in a couple weeks it will be my first fight and i take boxing and my training extremely seriously! I think its a good start to see weather you want to compete in this sport or just do it for leisure and not go amateur. We are a proper boxing gym and they always do the white collar and the guys that do it live and breathe boxing and take it very seriously but like me may not have been introduced or got into it at a young age! :good
im fighting in one in two weeks for charity im fighting my twin brother im a boxing fan and have been dying to try boxing for years and i recently joined up with a club in dublin (corinthians), love the training and i hope to continue boxing after the event is held , also been sparring some good lads the last few weeks one is an ex all-ireland champion even though he took it very easy i really enjoyed it since i started 4 weeks ago the respect i have for boxers now is unreal , how the **** they go hell for leather for 12 rounds is beyond me , i thought i was fit **** me 2 rounds of handy sparring and i am ****ed
Maybe i am the one completely in the wrong anything that encourages boxing as a sport is good. I just dont like the way it seems to be marketed/presented as something more back ally than maybe it is. People being trained up to fight just for fightings sake under the guise of boxing i am not for. People wanting to train, and learn boxing technique properly and compete in the ring then i take my hat off and salute you. Perpetuaton of the "fight clubesque" angle of it does the sport no favours
i dont think your completely wrong mate im sure theres lots of people like that. But i cant think of many, they "rich" people that fanci themselves tough guys are usually the guys that dont turn up :yep
im the latter by the way haha iv been training for 2 years taking my time learning but now i feel ready to try what i have learned for real. That hat had better be off sir :rofl
**** me,2 years training, and no fight yet,u better be good mate:think:bbb i quite like the idea of white coller boxers,as long as they are trained by am or pro trainers, and take it seriously, its a good thing in my eyes. id love to go in and beat some banker up,just for all the ****ing charges they throw at me:yep
hmm 2 years is misleading i guess. Its a twice a week beginners class that last year i was attending off and on. Iv now been invited to the proper training three times a week so you can either see it as 2 years or the last 3 months depending on what you classify as proper boxing training lol!
olny having a laugh mate,do it in your own time ,its quite nerving seeing a big bloke in the other corner who wants to knock your head off:nut
i used to box amateur and I am planning on getting into white collar having trained a ta couple of white collar clubs. all the lads who train at the white collar clubs do it cos they love iot. It has the additional benefot of getting them fit and looking good too. it is also bringing people into the sport at a later age. i completely agree with the posters who said its people who didnt get the opportunity to box when they were yopung. i have loved boxing since about the age of 10 but mum would never let me go and I was too far away from a boing clubto learn. i started boxing when i was about 23 or 24! so imo its a good thing!
