I know theres a lot of ifs an buts, but is it a possibility?

If Khan really steps up in the next 2-3 years at Lightweight, wins world titles and moves up to 140 as many think he will, could there be an option against Hatton? To the average british bloke on the street, they are the 2 best known boxers in the country, and the fight would undoubtedly be massive, and would fill wembley stadium....so if khan dominates his division, and hatton cleans up at 140, could it potentially happen a few years down the line?

This would be the biggest domestic fight ever.

Hatton has publicly stated that he will retire before he is 30, he has promised this to his mum. He is 30 next year, therefore this is definately a no-go.:D

Khan if he progresses correctly will surpass Hatton.

Lets see how Khan handles Thaxton a common opponent

If they fought when hattotn is out of his prime and Khan is in his. It will be a one sided mayweathere style beatdown

Unlikely. In two or three years Khan will have been properly starched a couple of times at least. He will either be washed up or retired.

    :? :huh

It would probably be a huge fight but a very unlikely one. Who knows what Khan will become in a few years but i do agree that Hatton will probably be passed his best.

IMO, Khan will be on a higher level to even Hatton at Light Welter if he steps up whenever it's felt that he's ready and a figh between the pair would be just a money-spinner more than anything.

But it's just fantasy boxing to me!

Watch a replay of the Limond fight, then you'll get the idea.

I've seen it plenty. I guess that's what ur basing ur judgement on...

I just see a defense that needs to be improved, he can't go around psycologically underestimating fighters, he can't go forward with his arms dropped constantly...

Oh, and also his offense, skills, speed, accuracy and power will make him an immense fighter no matter what, IMO.

That's why i've always said that he needs to go to the states for some REAL training and sparring :p

Just my opinion, but i seriously doubt he'd be washed up in 3 yrs. Like it or not, u guys have a 'bloody' good talent there, i just wish he was American!

I saw an article today on The Times website about Khan hoping to spar with Hatton. Also said he saw himself in Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Khan quoted as saying "I'd get in the ring with Mayweather if he came down to my weight".

Although I doubt a fight with Cherry would happen anytime soon it is interesting to note that because he is from the Bahamas he could fight for the Commonwealth title .

I just hope Khan doesn't fight McCallister next , for me that would just be a waste of time .
